These men and women are paying the price for the freedoms we enjoy. This cool 69 Riviera runs and drives exactly as you would expect a low mileage boulevard bruiser to run. Strong 430 CID 360Hp big block torque monster coupled to a smooth shifting automatic transmission spinning the rear tires. Good sounds coming from the pipes, the Kenwood and the open road are all you'll need. It's a real gentleman's car. No girly, techie or kid stuff. Clean lines, sharp looks and the rumble of ample power to back it up. It's 1969 and horsepower is the name of the game everywhere. Big personal luxury marques like the Cadillac Eldorado and the Oldsmobile Toronado had gone to front wheel drive but Buick maintained it's rear wheel drive configuration in the Riviera. It was a wide decision and as such, there were few cars that could match the classic styling and dependable drive train of the Riviera. Unlike it's heavyset cousins, the Rivi could still be a hotrod that would light the tires given half the chance. If you had outgrown your Camaro, Corvette or Mustang stage but not your bad ass stage, a properly equipped Riviera was (and is) hard to beat. Start by skipping the vinyl top, upgrade the bench seat to buckets and then ditch 90% of those horrendous colors. Carefully spec'd, there's a bad ass hotrod big block wrapped in a tailored business suit. This Riviera comes from our personal collection and is tough to let go. The ride and drive are just great, tons of power and torque and a joy just to cruise. No squeaks or rattles. Everything operates as it should. Always a crowd at cars and coffee. Lots of people will stop you for pictures or to reminiscence. Everyone loves the look. Recent maintenance items in the last 12 months Rebuild and service carburetor New fuel pump Install exhaust manifold gaskets, flowmasters and tailpipes Oil Change, lube Fresh tune, plugs Valve cover and oil pan gaskets Differential service and seals Brake service. Transmission service New shock absorbers New polyurethane bushings New tires 4 core aluminum radiator, fresh hoses New roof rail weatherstrips, seals everywhere as needed Emblems and door handles shaved when new. Old school mechanical door poppers operate with a twist of the door key. Excellent chrome and glass The Nardi Steering wheel really works well with this Riviera as do the billet upgrades to the shift, tilt and signal levers. We do have the original Riviera steering wheel if you would like it instead. It is in excellent condition. AMT produced a model kit of this exact car in this exact configuration. We do not have the provenance to suggest that this car was the original example that AMT used to create their model kit. We do think it's pretty rare to find a model kit that just happens to be exactly what you drive. An unopened kit is included (see video). A build book with photographs and receipts is included.
