2001 Mercedes ML55 AMGPending divorce forces the sale of my ML55. I purchased it in 07 w/ 67,000 miles from a dealer who had taken it in on trade from the original owner. In the last two years I have performed the following work: 1) Replaced the front suspension to include: Ball joints, upper and lower control arms, shocks, inner and outer tie rod ends2) Rebuilt the electric motor in the hydraulic pump that controls the ABS3) Replaced the Crankshaft position sensor (cheap part, real PITA to do). A VERY common issue4) Replaced the center drive shaft carrier bearing5) Installed new tires 3,000 miles ago on the PERFECT stock AMG monoblocks6) Brake pads front and rear, new brake Master Cylinder7) Spark Plugs Replaced (All 16), @ 155,000 along with fuel filter, air filter, cabin filter8) New Fog Lights, old ones had cracks and were not functioning9) New Battery last winter Interior is gray leather and in excellent condition. The rear seats look like they have never been sat in. The fronts show minor wear but are totally intact with no holes, rips, tears, etc. All power seat functions to include heaters work properly. Carpet is excellent with no holes, tears, stains, odors, etc. Headliner is perfect. All window switches, door handles, etc work properly. Included are stock Mercedes all weather mats along with a Mercedes rear cargo liner. The stock Mercedes Cassette player and VCR were replaced with a $1500 Pioneer AVIC D3 to include GPS, DVD, and IPOD connectivity. Also installed was an overhead rear video screen and a concealed JL Audio woofer w/ amplifier. The stereo work alone was $4000 when new. All door trims, dash, trim, etc is in excellent condition. Exterior is Metalic Green w/ stock black trim. There are very minor nicks and scratches associated with a vehicle of this age that has only been driven by a 55 year old non-smoking adult. One accident is reported on the car fax (which I will be happy to email) and it occurred when my wife backed into a Fed Ex truck and the lower rear plastic valance had to be replaced. There was no damage to any metal parts. Included is a second set of wheels and tires which I purchased for $800 from Tire Rack two seasons ago. These are 17X9 w/ Blizzak snow tires having right at 3,000 miles on them. Engine and transmission are typical AMG, fast and reliable. I have never had an issue with the exception of the crankshaft position sensor which has been replaced. OK, now the bad1) It will need Catalytic Converters as the CEL is on w/ that code. Davico Engineering in MA will fabricate a complete exhaust including all 4 cats for $340.00 available through Rockauto who I have purchased numerous parts for vehicles from over the years. I was quoted $900 from a local Meineke shop for the labor.2) The remote locking with the keys has never worked since I purchased the truck. The main lock button on the console will lock all doors to include the rear hatch. Either front door lock will open all doors. 3) The fuel gauge has an issue that Mercedes refuses to acknowledge but that is EXTREMELY common on W163 MLs. When you fill up and restart it will read empty until it reaches 3/4 tank at which point it functions fine to empty. I really only am mentioning these items as I would like to present this as fairly as possible. It is a $78,00 when new truck that at the time it was produced was the fastest and most luxurious SUV there was. I really hate to let it go but my domestic situation is not going to allow me to keep 4 vehicles. Due to the age, and the price, I am selling as-is. A $500 deposit via Pay-Pal will be required at close of auction with the balance to be paid upon pick-up. Any shipping will be at the buyers expense.
