Hi this auction is for a red 1972 Honda SL175 Motosport, dual sport motorcycle with approximately 3960 miles on it (this may go up as I still ride it). It's got a 174cc twin cylinder engine. This model did not come equipped with electric start. It is in very good condition, aside from a small amount of rust, registered and insured with a valid NJ title. I ride it all the time. When cold, it starts in about 3 or 4 kicks. Once it's warm, it almost always starts in one kick. The bike will do about 50mph in 5th gear @ 6,000rpm. I did hit 60 once, at about 7,000, but I usually go 50 or less. If you want to trail ride it, I would suggest a bigger rear wheel sprocket or one tooth less on the countershaft sprocket, for a little more low end. The bike was somewhat restored many years ago by the previous owner. The tank, fenders, side covers, and frame were repainted. Also, a new seat cover was added. It's still in nice shape, except for some rust on the pipes and rear rim, and is pretty much all original. Also, as you can see, there is a dent in the right side of the tank. I had it tuned up in early summer. The carbs were rebuilt, front tire replaced, new battery, new air filters, valves and timing adjusted, fork seals replaced. I replaced the rear shocks last year. The chain and sprockets are in good shape, as is the rear tire. The muffler is in excellent shape, too. I have a few spare parts that go with it, and a service manual. Feel free to email questions.
