I bought this bike off eBay a while back, and it had a broken piston ring that cut a deep grove into the piston, had not much compression and had no title! It has a clear Kentucky title now on my name - I love Kentucky DMV!!! I took the bike completely apart, and shipped the cylinders and brand new over-sized pistons/rings to LaBaron's Motor Sport in Michigan for re-boring. They also sand blasted the cylinders to make them look brand new. They did a fantastic job! All seals, gaskets were replaced in the engine and transmission. The side cover was missing, - I bought that from Italy. Gas tank, oil tank and side cover were repainted to get them in a matching factory original color. Oil tank badges are replaced as well. Front forks have new seals and dust booths. Front disk brake completely rebuilt, new caliper piston, new pads and caliper piston booths. New drive chain, new battery. All light bulbs were replaced, including the 5 in the instrument panels. All lights work perfect, including the turn signals. The seat was professionally re-upholstered by the previous owner and it is in perfect shape. The frame was also re-painted when the bike was disassembled. The chrome parts are not bad for its age, and I was hesitant to spend the big bucks to send them to a chrome shop. If you want to completely restore the bike, that is the only thing missing...But it is fine as it is, - for now. The bike starts for one kick! I replaced the ignition coil, because the old one was cracked open and gave wimpy sparks! This made a big difference in power as well! Not mentioning the perfect compression now with new pistons/rings and professional re-boring. The bike needs to be treated easy until it gets broken in for the new pistons/rings... Oil pump works nice, no need to put oil into the gas. Brand new Shinko tires and inner tubes. I give the 92 pages very detailed HAYES Workshop Manual to the winning bidder as a bonus!
