Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1978 Lancia Beta Coupe. I bought it this year from a man who lives near my summer place. I mainly used this car to run to the store & get around locally, rather than my giant diesel truck. Took it up the freeway to a car show in Tacoma. Attracts attention wherever I take it. It has been repainted grey from the original silver. Pretty much original & complete. Good glass & headliner. Leather is decent, could use a dye job. Runs & drives OK, but should really be gone through & restored. I replaced the shifter bushings which could use a little adjustment. Motor is same as a Fiat 124, but a front wheel drive setup, like the 128's & 131's ?..Believe small oil leak coming from front cam seal. Am including a new timing belt which, when installed should take care of that issue with new seals. Factory AC needs update. Fuel gauge doesn't work, but low fuel light does. Hadn't planned on selling it when I went home to Utah for 2 months, but returned up to Olympia to find it covered with leaves & green. This car deserves a garage & breaks my heart to see it sit out in the rain. Just bought a much more sensible Subaru to leave here instead. I hope someone will give this beautifully designed classic a good home. Available for inspection later this week, when I return with the title. If you've been looking for one of these, this is a good one. Every piece of trim, lens, center caps, bumper ends are intact & in good shape. Small 1/2 dollar sized rust coming thru on each lower front fender & one on left rear. VERY solid otherwise. Car is for sale locally & may end at any time for a reasonable offer, so please DON'T think you'll wait for the last minute & get it for nothing! HAPPY BIDDING!!!On Nov-20-14 at 12:14:52 PST, seller added the following information: Adding a couple of requested pictures. Just got back up to Olympia with the title. It was in the teens all last week. A couple of pumps on the gas pedal & she started right up. Weber carb & choke work perfectly. Ran it a few miles into town for milk & a newspaper. Several have asked more on basics. Drove car last summer to Tacoma in stop & go traffic on the freeway in mid 80's temps. Electric fan comes on as needed, does not run hot at all. Clutch & brakes work fine. Things to look at would be the timing belt first & then struts & CV axles down the road. Does have power steering, which works fine. Operating air horns, tube header & just slightly louder exhaust that sounds great as it backs off. One picture shows the 2 cracks in the dash. Have a couple of locals coming by Fri & Sat. Amazed to see 116 watchers. I didn't think that many people even knew what a Lancia was! PLEASE, I've been through this before... If you want the car either bid on it or contact me with an offer. If it's this low on Sat afternoon, it'll go to a local offer. Then I'll get a dozen Emails from people who wanted to wait until the last minute... "do you still have it?" "i was going to bid on it"
