Vehicle Detail
I just bought another BRAT so I'm looking to part ways with this terrific little truck. It’s been great! I bought two years ago in North Carolina. The seller put quite a bit of work into it...it spent most of its life in Florida. I drove it the 500 miles back to South Jersey (no issues at all)...in the past two years I have only put another 700 miles on it. The only thing I have done is change the oil. Here's what's good/great: - Starts right up and runs great...easy to run on the highway up to 65mph. Shifter is loose but clutch feels good. - No rust! Huge on these vehicles. - No cracks in the dash. - Recently repainted – no dents. - Garaged. - Removable t-tops- Tires are good. - Yes…it has the jumpseats and a homemade rollbar which I'm quite confident would do nothing but at least looks good. What's not perfect/great: - While the paint is good and the car looks great in passing, there are a few dings from a hail storm. It's not bad and could be popped out without much difficulty. - Chip in windshield (not cracked). Easily fixable. - Radio/door speakers are aftermarket and worthless.- Has A/C that "kinda/sort of" worked when I bought it...Honestly, I haven't driven it enough/tried to use it over the past two years to give its status. At a minimum probably needs a recharge. - Rest of interior is ok…what you should expect on a 30-year car with 96K. No rips/tears. - A small amount of oil seepage. By seepage I just mean several drops on the garage floor in two years.- Pretty sure it's not the original tailgate...it's not perfect but the repaint makes it passable. To summarize…this was exactly the type of BRAT I wanted when purchased…something that looked good, ran well, no rust, but not a showpiece I had to worry about babying.
