Vehicle Detail

Dodge Power Wagon pick up, always North Carolina truck . Converted by original owner to Diesel. Four wheel drive, granny low gear 4 speed with a 3-53 Detroit alloy block engine adapted to the original transmission. Lots of torque, excellent performer on tight trails or in deep sand. Very economical to operate. This truck was built by an experienced fabricator. The Chrysler alternator and power steering were correctly adapted to the engine. It has an engine driven vacuum pump for the power brakes. The bell housing and flywheel and clutch are GM units as installed in a GAMA Goat. Chassis The truck had been sitting a while when we bought it and all basic repairs were made to put it back in driving condition. Every brake component including lines are new, new exhaust system, all filters and fuel lines replaced. The original plastic gas tank was brittle and cracked and factory replacement tanks are not available. We installed a 19 gallon tank in the bed, however there is room to install another tank under the truck as well. Extras include receivers for equalizing hitches, lift kit and snow plow mount. Body The truck has original paint except for the right front fender. There is no evidence of prior body work on the truck. It is beginning to rust through at the cab corners and behind the rear wheels. The front of both inner fenders where they attach to the radiator support are rusted through. The drivers floorboard next to the rocker panel will require patching. The frame and cab supports and bed are solid. There is lots of scaly rust underneath the truck. Interior Original seat cover, split on drivers side. Good dash, everything works except fuel gauge sender. A sender can be added to tank in bed. We check the fuel at the tank. An Allison Detroit tachometer has been added. Engine and Running Gear Four wheel drive and lockout hubs work as they should. Steering is tight. Engine starts and runs great with excellent oil pressure. Clutch releases and holds fine, sometimes has a slight shudder when taking off, but should last a long time. Please look over the pictures carefully and email any questions. The truck is located in Winston Salem, NC available for local pick-up. I will ship the truck, but the buyer must make all arrangements and truck to be picked up from my house. The truck can be seen by prior arrangement. Note that this was a work truck, and it has the dents, scratches, and dings to prove it. It is far from perfect, but has no mechanical issues I know of other than there is no fuel gauge. If you are not familiar with these engines, they are 2 stroke diesels with blowers and are very noisy. Your neighbors will know when you leave the house. If you want to operate on the interstates, this is not the truck to buy due to the gearing. It is ideal as a powerful, light weight off highway truck. There are not many short bed Power Wagons around. I am selling this truck because I have another Detroit project underway, and I cannot keep all the toys. The truck is well used, but not used up and it is being sold as is. A $500.00 pay pal deposit is due at the end of the auction, and the balance in cash when truck is picked up.
