Vehicle Detail

Purchased from 2nd owner who had car since 1975 and stored it in 1989. No rust issues. Trim tag paint code 72 Pimento Red interior trim code 63 Chestnut Brown. Appears car had one re spray in pimento red. Interior looks original and in great shape other than carpet which prior owner changed out with a tan color carpet. Windshield has some stone chips. Door glass is good but drivers glass needs adjusted to fit better. Paint has nicks, chips and scratches. Having been stored we drained the fluids and replaced the fuel, oil and air filters. Oil changed, new spark plugs, points, condenser, cap and plug wires. Radiator flushed with new water pump, thermostat and fan belt. Carbs rebuilt. Clutch master and slave cylinders replaced. Rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders and all 4 brake soft hoses replaced and system flushed and bled. Turn signal and hazard flashers replaced. New headlight switch. All lights work as they should. Nice Robbins soft top with good clear plastic but it has a small 3 inch tear on drivers side that can be repaired. The soft top pins were rounded off by vise grips (and probably the reason for the small tear in the top) so we replaced the top pins, spring washers and the missing handles and the top now latches and releases properly. Also replaced the steering rack bushings and front sway bar bushings and links. Tires (including spare) are Michelin red lines and while they have tread are old and hard and new tires should be considered. Car registered and passed state inspection, starts, runs and drives well, shifts smooth and brakes properly. The odometer recently stopped after about 260 miles after getting it back on the road when I reset the trip odometer to zero, and it just stayed there. Speedometer and tachometer work properly. Good oil pressure and doesn't smoke, but does leak a few drops like these cars have always done. This car is a blast to drive. Older stereo with front and rear speakers. Looks good, nice bumpers. Wheels are nice but trim rings could be replaced to look better. We took it to one local car show and placed for trophy in import class so the car would do well at small local car shows and will be a great weekend cruiser. Offering for sale one time with a modest reserve for a rust free and very original car. If not sold I will keep it and enjoy it. E-mail any questions. If you are able, come take a look, take it for a drive and place a bid. Offered locally so may end auction if sold. Thanks for looking and considering this great little car. Included are the original jack and wheel wrench, correct chestnut brown top boot cover, a full tonnou cover in black and a full car cover for storage. I can store the car indoors until you make arrangements to collect it and can assit with loading for transport. On Nov-03-14 at 19:07:59 PST, seller added the following information: Forgot to note that all the coolant hoses, including the interior heater hoses, were also replaced with new and the radiator shroud was also repalced with new. The trunk panels are all back in place and the trunk light works (they were out for the trunk photos to show no rust back there). I will post additional photos later in the week when I return home from a business trip. car also has its original owners manual in the glove box. Seat belts with shoulder harness work properly (interia reels). On Nov-05-14 at 06:38:05 PST, seller added the following information: We also put in a high quality brand new battery which I neglected to mention, along with new hood alignment pins. Added additional photos to show the various covers (nice Wolf car cover is included) and some interior views. Tried to get pictures underneath but without a lift not really able. On Nov-05-14 at 12:10:11 PST, seller added the following information: Added 2 additional photos, one showing the stone chips on the windshield and one showing the small seam on the left front of the top. The top has an overall nice appearance and isn't hard or brittle, the windows are nice, the only flaw is this small seam split which I've been told can be repaired by a good upholstery shop (heat sealed) but I haven't had time to go get it done. On Nov-09-14 at 10:51:20 PST, seller added the following information: To answer questions I've had about storage and transport; I can store the car for the high bidder until they can arrange to collect it, and I can be available to assist your transporter as needed to load the car. Other questions asked about payment; wire transfer can be arranged ifs desired. So no worries about picking up the car right away, it can be stored in the back of my hangar covered and secured indoors until you make the needed arrangements and what ever method of transport is arranged, I will assist getting the car properly loaded and ready to go. Someone is going to get a great deal as the car has met reserve and will sell via this auction.
