1970 PLYMOUTH SATELLITE. UPDATE 10/29/2014: ADDED FENDER TAG PHOTO PER REQUEST. NEXT TO LAST PHOTO. This was to be our next Pro-Street project but our plans changed. We have built an awesome ’69 RR pro-street/drag car that’s been winning trophies pretty much constantly, and yet I have always liked the 1970 better. With that in mind, I started planning a 1970 Plymouth B-body, full-tube chassis, fiberglass front end car to have long with the '69. That’s why I bought this car, but it was just too complete and original to cut up. So... I then also bought a less original 1970 Road Runner for the project, which I sold here on eBay earlier this month when my plans changed. So what plans changed? A friend decided to sell his back-halved ‘Cuda drag car and I bought that instead of proceeding with this '70 project. So now I don't need either of the 70's and that’s the reason I’m selling. ABOUT THE CAR: This is an absolutely perfect running and driving original power steering, power brake, air condition car with a 318 v8 and automatic. Oh! and just for fun I'll mention the 8-track player. LOL. I drove it to many cruise nights and car events this summer. NEVER a problem on the road. In fact, a few months ago back in May I noticed a lifter tick was starting (which I could not allow) and replaced all lifters, all push rods and 4 or 5 of the rockers I felt were showing any sign of wear. There's a video posted of this. The frame rails, floors, rocker panels, fenders and quarter panels are all original and solid. This was a southern car from Mississippi, so the body is real good while the paint and vinyl top are heavily sun faded/baked. The paint is mostly original with touch-ups over the years. And just recently I noticed the car needs rear brake work so I will do that THIS WEEK. As I said, the car runs and drives wonderfully, so I'll replace these brakes to make sure it is still that way when you get it. And, YES ABSOLUTELY! You can drive this Plymouth back home anywhere in the country. WHAT THE CAR NEEDS: The carpet is original with a lot of wear and deterioration on the driver side ($139.99 at Yearone). The head liner was in real good shape until a mouse made a home under the passenger sun visor and put a hole in the headliner ($85.99 at yearone). Both need to be replaced and are available from Yearone at a total cost of ONLY $225.98. Minor stuff. If you wish to replace the front seat cover, it is $389.99. So the entire cost of interior items would be $615.97 if you did it all. The entire dash and dash pad are in real nice shape. The center section of the trunk needs to be replaced, but the trunk extensions to the quarter panels are good, so again, just the center section ($369.00 at AMD). The trunk floor issue was caused by a leaking back window, so some minor patching may be necessary there after removing and before resealing the back glass. Surface rust can be seen at each lower corner of the rear window trim. That should be the ONLY metal replacement required. The gas tank has already been replaced. The stainless/aluminum trim around the tail light needs to be removed, straightened and re-polished, or again you can replace it inexpensively at yearone or AMD. If you're doing a Road Runner clone you wont need it at all (do an image search on google). If you are a professional builder, you will appreciate the basics like sheet metal, engine, trans, etc. are all there and in good shape. All the things we would change anyway during a build like paint, carpet, head liner, etc., all NEED replacement, and THAT drives the price down. Perfect situation... WHAT THE CAR OFFERS: ONE YEAR ONLY BODY! Excellent factory color combination. Perfectly solid exterior body. 100% complete and original. The '70 is very quickly starting to surpass the '69 in popularity. 68-69-70 B-bodies are the years to have, with '69 being most popular until recently. Check the Mopar forums and Facebook Mopar sites and you will see that the 1970 is quickly becoming the most popular and desired year. I had 2 '69's at the same time and still own 1 of them, and side by side- the '70 is a better looking car. Absolutely factory original and unaltered. Excellent running and driving car. PERFECT platform to build an awesome 1970 Plymouth street, pro-street, pro-touring, RR or GTX clone or complete custom car (like "The Hammer" from Fast & Furious). I have RR/GTX tail lights available if you want to clone it. This is the best starting point. Why pay more for a car you’re only going to tear apart and re-do anyway to build your own project? At this price, if you really wanted to build an absolutely beautiful car, you could still afford to put another $8K-$10K in the car for interior items mentioned, paint, nice custom tires and wheels and have an AMAZING ’70 B-body for less than $17,000- $19,000 total and still be under market value when finished-and it would be NEW and FRESH. And again, this car can also be driven and enjoyed just as it is if you’re on a budget. That’s the beauty of it. If you have the ability, this is the smart money right here. PHOTOS SHOW THE CAR WITH 1970 RALLYE WHEELS AND ALSO HAVE ORIGINAL FACTORY MAGNUM-STYLE WHEELS WITH TRIM RINGS THAT CAME ON THE CAR. CHOOSE EITHER TIRE AND WHEEL PACKAGE YOU PREFER. NO ADDITIONAL COST AT ALL. The tires on the Rallye wheels are in very nice shape. The original wheels can be seen in the very last photo. Please see videos.
