Vehicle Detail
2005 Mercedes E55 / W211 63,000 miles You’re looking at a well-kept 2005 W211/E55. The car only has 63,000 miles on the cluster. The car has a salvage title. It had damage to the front radiator section. Before I get into the details of the car, I want to explain a little about my background and history. I have been purchasing cars from auctions for over 14 years. I normally buy very light fixers, cars with no frame damage, fix them, drive them for a year, sell, and repeat the process. I use to own an automotive shop as well as a co-owner of a bodyshop, hence, I know cars in and out. I purchased the E55 in October, 2010. This is the longest I have kept a car, simply because the E55 is the most fun I have ever had in a daily driver. The car is stupid fast and still brings a wicked smile to my face every time a mash the throttle. Im sure you know what this car is capable of, so I won’t bore you with the factory specs. So here are the details. As always, I will answer any questions and I have over 90 pictures of the interior/exterior/under carriage. Ebay only lets me post 24 pictures. The remaining pics will be placed on a FTP site, so please ask for access. I believe in full disclosure. Car · Fully optioned. · Sat Radio / Nav · Adjustable Air Suspension (OEM / factory) Salvage Title As mentioned, the car had front end damage, primarily to the radiator section. The car had no other damage to any other areas. I replaced all the broken parts with OEM Mercedes parts. I have all the receipts. I also put the vehicle on a frame machine to check for any discrepancies. All the measurements were within factory tolerances. Modifications 1. Lowered using Mercedes Star software. 2. 19 x 8.5 Front and 19 x 10 Rear Forgestar Wheels / Powder coated black with Toyo Proxes T1 Sport Tires. 3. Illuminated AMG door Sills – These look really nice and make the interior pop. 4. Added Satellite Radio 5. Added IPOD integration kit. 6. Added an E63 AMG front bumper. 7. Blacked out emblems in the rear. 8. Matt black grille in the front. 9. Tint all the way around. I believe its 5% in the rear and 20% in the front. 10. AMG Gas / Brake Pedals Maintenance · Every 1.5 years I have to weld the wheels from small hairline fractures. I live in a area where potholes are prevalent. · Changed the Supercharger clutch. These cars are known for a little squeak when getting into the gas. This is the SC clutch slipping. Dealer charges a ton to do this. It's done, no worries. · These cars are known for radiator fluid leaking into the tranny fluid. There was a problem with one of the radiators Mercedes used. I changed the radiator to the newer style about a year ago. · Replaced the bushings on the Airmatic pump as well as the filter. When the bushings go out, you can hear the pump running. With the new bushing, I never hear it. · Replaced the Transmission Conductor Plate + Connector + Filter + Gasket + Fluid. This was another common problem with E55. They would leak tranny fluid under heavy acceleration. Most of the time it is just the connector. Mine was the connector housing so I had to change the conductor plate plus connector. Runs like a champ now with no leakage. · Replaced driver side door handle (exterior). · Replaced driver side glass seal. It deteriorated and was scratching my interior window tint. · Changed the cabin filter. · Replaced the spark plugs and coils about 8 months ago. · Oil is good for another 2,000 miles (Mobile One Synthetic). Interior Condition The interior of this car is in great condition for a car of this vintage. No rips or tears and the leather and headliner are in great shape. Everything works as it should from the factory. · The color around the MB emblem on the steering wheel is starting fade. · The gearshift handle shows sign of use. · Carpet is in excellent condition. · Front seats are in great condition and back seats are in excellent condition. · Headliner is in great condition. · Dash is perfect. All wood is in excellent condition. Exterior Condition This car has the normal bumps, scratches, and dings for a car of this vintage. There are several small scratches throughout and some tiny dents. I would say a good 90% of the scratches can be buffed / compounded out. I never bothered because this car was my daily driver. · Front windshield has a small rock chip. · Front bumper has been repaired (car sits low so you must be careful going in steep driveways or traversing speed bumps). I usually pull the bumper once a year and repair and paint. It needs it now. It is fully functional, just needs some cosmetic care. Scratches on the bottom of the bumper from coming in contact with speed bumps and little tiny stress cracks. · Please see pics and ask any questions. Engine When I first bought this car, I was surprised on how raspy and loud the engine was at idle. I had to hop on youtube to verify if this was normal. Fortunately, It is. They are just raspy. All fluids including tranny are changed regularly. Car passes CA smog with no issues. The engine is solid running and will glue your head to the head rest as long as you have the gas pedal mashed. Brakes Brake rotors on this car need attention. They are at the very edge of use. Fortunately, I purchased new OEM set. They are sitting on the shelf in the garage. The car comes with the rotors. I have not had the chance to install them. Tires Tires were replaced about 700 miles ago. They are relatively new. These cars seem to chew through tires quickly, especially when the car is lowered. Car was aligned at OEM height, but not at lowered height. If you want to align the car at lowered height, it will take the installation of aftermarket camber components. Things I would do If I bought this car, I would just replace the brake rotors (supplied) and drive. It needs nothing else. Depending on how often I drive it, I would also do some cosmetic work such as compound buff and some light cosmetic work on the front bumper. Also, I lost the second key. I would purchase a new one from ebay and have the key programmed by your local dealer. What I don’t know If the IPOD adapter works with the new I-phones and IPODS. The IPOD adapter unit was installed back in 2011 and I now have Samsung, so have not tested. It works perfect with my old phone and old IPOD. Some tools you may want to buy from me First, NO, I will not throw these in with the deal. If you would like to purchase, I am sure we can come to a reasonable agreement. What I have: · Oil and tranny dipsticks. · MERCEDES BENZ Diagnostics STAR XENTRY Mercedes STAR diagnostic factory software loaded on a Dell laptop with factory connector. The laptop also has the factory maintenance DAS and WIS loaded. This software allows you to diagnose the vehicle and change many of the soft and hard parameters on the vehicle (such as vehicle height). A must for DIYers. Shipping:Hop on line and you will literally find hundreds of shipping options for vehicles. You are also welcome to pick the car up locally. I would highly recommend a reputable transporter with good feedback and insurance. PaymentI have title in hand and will provide a bill of sale. If you win the auction, I require a non refundable deposit of $500 within 24 hours of auction close. The rest will be cash or bank cashiers check which must clear my bank before I will release the car. Please have your finances in order before bidding on this vehicle. I will not hold the car past two weeks. Again, don't lose your deposit, have your finances in order. ScammersI have been on ebay for years, check my feedback. I have seen all the scams, hence I will not entertain trades or anything to do with unusual request. I may have missed some small defects or modifications such as the E63 lip spoiler on the rear trunk. Please feel free to ask any questions. Again, I am all about full disclosure and I want a happy buyer and the car to go to a good home. Feedback: If you have little to no feedback, please contact me first before bidding. I will cancel your bids if you do not. I have been doing this long enough and don't want to lose a week for re-listing because of non-paying bidder. Rotors: If you choose to have this vehicle shipped, I will not ship the brake rotors in the car. They may disappear or worst, damage the vehicle by rattling around during transport. I can ship them via FedEx on your dime or entertain any other options on getting you the rotors. Q&A: Q: What is the reserve? A: The reserve is set low, so place your maximum bid. Q: Will I sell the car now (buy it now)? A: Make me a reasonable offer. Q: Can you raise the car back to stock height? A: Absolutely! Also, know this car has a factory height increase button right below the shifter. I uses it whenever I am going into steep driveways, riding bumpy roads, or over speed bumps. It actually raises the vehicle significantly, hence, you can still have the lowered sport look or you can ride at almost stock height with a push of a button.
