Vehicle Detail
If you are looking for a show car, this is not it, but rather a fun reliable, top-down machine. In my Dad’s own words, “Restoration Objective-Nice enough to smile at and be part of the family-not spotless show quality.” The exterior is yellow, which is not an original Datsun color, and the interior is black. It has a black soft top, white hard top, black tonneau cover and a black boot cover. All are in pretty good shape, considering their age, but the soft top has some tearing around the bottom near the clips on the body. It has been garaged since 2002, and never driven in foul weather. It has a current Pennsylvania inspection, a clear title, and is registered and licensed with “Classic Car” plates in PA. It also has a full size spare tire and jack in the boot. The gas gauge works, but only shows ½ when the gas tank is full. It does go down from there as fuel is used. The clock works, but the knob to set it is missing, haven’t been able to find one. The odometer shows 523, it turned over 100,000 sometime around 2008, speedometer, and tachometer work fine. I replaced the speakers, but I think it is the original radio-I can only get an oldies FM station. I had wiring installed so I could play my iPod. Windshield Wipers, and exterior/interior lights work, the seats have been replaced, but not recovered. I inherited this car from my father when he passed away in 2005. He did most of the restoration between 2002-2005. During that time, the engine was rebuilt, transmission rebuilt, brakes done, clutch rebuilt with kit, new whitewall tires, all re-chromed, and the body prepared, painted professionally-except the paint job was never completely finished, it still needs some work. There is some cracking in the paint and the panel below the driver door needs sanding and repainting. I have a partial quart of matching paint. The driver’s side door doesn’t fit perfectly and, as far as I know, the doors don’t lock. I have a few of boxes of parts, several shop manuals, and most of my Dad’s notes and receipts on the work that was done, which will go with the car. Since 2005, the floorboards, gas tank and front left rocker panel have been re-welded. New keyed ignition has been installed, new choke, new exhaust and muffler, and new black carpet has been installed in the front, back, but not the parcel shelf-not sure why it didn’t come with the kit. I have also put it up on Craigslist, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. There is no warranty on the vehicle, sold as is. Buyer is responsible for shipping, but I will assist in driving it to a local location. You really should come see it to appreciate how great this car is!
