Vehicle Detail

1963 Dodge dart GT convertible for Sale. Clear title. Fantastic, ready to drive family fun machine Car has only 72,000+ miles and sports the largest engine offered that year as the “270” labelled the 225. A venerable "slant six” engine controlled by the “cool” PUSHBUTTON automatic 3 speed on the dash. It has been enhanced by the addition of power front disc brakes activated by a DUAL CHAMBER master cylinder which is a MAJOR upgrade over the original drum brakes all around activated by a single master cylinder. The automatic shifts smoothly through the gears (3 speed transmission) and glides down the road on a rebuilt front suspension. It drives forever at 65 MPH even in 95F heat without overheating, and gets 20-25 MPG. It has one of the nicest engine compartments ever and the trunk (which is huge) is just as nice. The car has a gorgeous new new interior and a convertible top which operates smoothly with the power switch. The original AM radio is present, restored and working. When purchased by me , the previous owner had mounted an after market AM/FM radio in the glove compartment poorly so that , closing the glove box door turned the radio on. This has been removed and the glovebox reconstituted. The aftermarket CD/AM/FM radio is unmounted but sent in the trunk. The speakers for this radio are still wired and mounted in the doors as they were fit into cuts made in the new door panels. The original radio has been professionally repaired and works well, being connected to the original dash mounted speaker. The bodywork and paint are new but “driver "and not show quality: a "10-20 footer", perfect for a family car. The panels could be aligned better and the paint could be better in some areas but it has great color and gloss. The stainless steel trim is in good to excellent condition. There is a 1/2 cm eversion blemish/dent in the rear hood as it the trunk had been closed on an object inside the trunk. It was too small to show on photos. The bumpers and wheels were painted the same metallic color by the previous owner, probably to cover poor chrome or a front bumper bend that was not perfectly straightened. There's a new interior trim piece by the foot of the right rear seat that had an irregular cut out lower edge which has been repaired as shown, and is hardly noticeable. The new carpet got wet once when caught out in a rain and shrunk some so shows some shortening by the right rear footwell sidewall. The convertible top and plastic rear window are very good to excellent. All the glass is good and the windows all roll up and down properly. There is a nice new FLOWMASTER exhaust with a nice deep growl to it. Power steering and power brakes make it very comfortable to drive. The wheels are nearly new and carry high performance low profile tires, all of which should last forever given typical classic car use. As there are a few things on the car which don’t function, here are the important features that do work: Headlights, high and low beams, stop/brake lights, turn signals, horn, windshield wipers, temperature gauge, ammeter, power top control, original AM radio, speedometer and fuel gauge. Not working now are the cigarette lighter, fan for defrost and heater, and the defrost and heater which are not connected by their air conduits (which are absent under the dash). There is a functioning spare tire (not low profile) in the trunk wheel well, but no jack. Fiddlings for the next enthusiast. Payment must include $500 through paypal received within 24 hours of the auction end. I will cooperate with any transport company with which the buyer arranges pickup, but will not release the vehicle until the remaining balance is paid by bank wire transfer or a cashiers check clears. Buyer must arrange and pay for themselves the shipping . Car is garaged in Richmond Va.
