I am a trusted eBay seller active since 1998, mostly high value photographic and other rare and collectible items sent all over the world. Over 3300 auctions with 100% perfect feedback. I have always tried to treat others on eBay as I would like to be treated myself, and report condition fairly and as completely as I can. Please ask any/all questions before bidding, I will be glad to answer as soon as possible. To get things going, my starting price is a little under the dealer wholesale (trade-in) blue book for our area, and the Buy It Now price a little under the retail price given. Don't let this one get away! Approx 98,000 mostly Southern California, easy highway miles with great maintenance means many more years still left on this vehicle. These are know to go well over 200,000 miles as Diesel engines last much longer than gas engines.. If you are considering a VW TDI, this might be the car for you... and the GOLF is much more fun and sporty than the boring Jetta! I am selling my wife's car, only because we have moved to a rural location in WI and need an all-wheel-drive vehicle with high ground clearance and larger overall for the deep unplowed snow we have to deal with here in the mornings! We did use it last winter, living in town, in one of the worst winters in 100 yrs and it did fine on winterized Diesel. Car has a deluxe trim level including heated seats. Also has cold AC for the humid summers, and dark window tint film. Car has not been smoked in, has no strong odors. There are some fine scratches and small dents or nicks here and there in the gel-coat. particulary low or by the wheel wells. One scratch noted at the roof. We have no at-home children making messes, and only a small, neat dog that gets to ride in it a few times a week. Car has always had seat and head-rest covers and a blanket on the back seat. Dashboard always covered with a custom carpet-material dashboard cover. It attaches with velcro to the dash. We take it off in the winter to allow more air to flow from the defroster vents. Carpets are little more dirty than I would like for the photos, but overally clean with no rips or tears, same with the upholstery or headliner. See photos for scuffs and marks here and there. Has factory mats, a few of the plastic clip-downs for these are broken or missing. Has had rubber floor mats over the VW mats to keep them clean. Car comes with two genuine VW keys which are used to open and drive car; to open trunk, you operate the release from the driver's side door. I'm sorry to say that the remote electronic key was lost in the move out here. Of course it would be possible to get a new electronic remote key from VW dealer although not cheap. Alternatively I believe there are now programmable remotes sold by locksmiths for far less money that would work. We have not seen the need for it. I bought this car from a trusted eBay motors dealership (Bolen, in OK) in 2007, at the two year point it had only approx.11,000 miles on. I was told the original owner's back went out on him and he could no longer get into the Golf, much as he loved it. It was his 'baby' and he kept it garaged and meticulously maintained. He had to buy a full size American pickup he could climb into. I got close to 50MPG on that summer trip driving 80 at times, with the AC on! Made a believer out of me for TDI diesels. Diesel fuel costs a little more than regular gas, but you will get better mileage than a gas-electric hybrid and no looming $3000+ battery replacement fee, ever! I titled the care in California and my wife used it for daily commute of around 15-20 miles each way five days a week. Car was always maintained, first at dealership, then by an independent import garage we found that did better work for less $. Certain items were still done at the dealer, such as timing belt and things that VW will not release parts or tools for to others. She drove it out to WI with no problems last year when we moved here. Original VW cassette/CD player became inoperative and was replaced by a Kenwood CD player. It operates with the balance of the VW Monsoon surround sound system (subwoofer, speakers, tweeters, amp etc.). I replaced the amp. at one point with a VW replacement. I do not know of any problems with the vehicle or collisions. To the best of my knowledge airbags have never gone off. Car has been maintained properly from 'Day One' as recorded in owner's manual, especially crucial early oil changes etc., which shows sealer's stamps through 40K.. Following that, our independent mechanic kept track using a VW service interval printout I got from VW online. Other than oil changes, there is not that much special service listed as required at 60 or 90K, that is, approximately present mileage. Our mechanic has kept an eye on these. The only major service item upcoming at 100K will be the (second) timing belt replacement. We did the first at the required interval, at the dealer as we were told it is risking damage to the car to have this done at an independent shop, in any event our mechanic thought it best also. Has newer Uniroyal radials, less than a year old and about 6000mi. Has recent new heavy Diesel service battery, wipers, over the years some fuel and other sensors etc. and thermostats have been replaced.. These are common replacement items on this series Golf, and annoying but not expensive. To the best of my knowledge has never been crashed or in an accident. My wife backed into a parking post in a gas station lot rear driver side fender area causing a dent, and it was repaired under insurance by the best body shop in San Diego. Later, the hood latch was not adjusted and it allowed the hood to spring open while driving, causing damage to the hood that was replaced with all trim such as wiper fluid ports, etc. again at that same shop under insurance. These cars have a molded plastic pan underneath that can become loose and drop down and/or come off, it has been replaced at least once, along with an inner plastic fender part associated with it and is securely in place at this point. The original plastic shroud around the battery has been removed, it served little or no purpose and has became insecure when its plastic mounting tabs cracked off. There is one small missing plastic trim ring at the driver's side rear seat shoulder strap ring, this could be obtained at a dealer. One of the VW hubcap inserts was stolen or lost at one point, I bought a replacement online and glued it in, as it was not exactly the right size. It has held fine so far from -21F to 90F weather. The larger half of the rear split bench seat is somehow stuck and the release, while it moves, does not release it. I have not had it looked at at the dealer or a body shop, but it should likely not be an expensive item to repair.
