This is a solid, running project car that was converted to dual weber idf 40s. It runs and drives well but there are issues that need to be addressed either in the short term or long term. It takes some babying to get it running if It has sat for a while but starts really well when warm. This would be a nice occasional driver to tinker around with for a few years while the prices are climbing and then have it fully restored when the market allows for it. The Good: This car has the optional power sunroof that works. It also is set up for A/C but that is currently not hooked up/operational. There were only 2099 912Es to begin with so you do the math...The car has almost no structural rust with only minor surface rust. No major accident damage. I have recently replaced/rebuilt weber carbs, points/condenser/coil/Battery, Pedal Cluster, and added a Push Button start. The previous owner indicated that the motor had been rebuilt at about 90K. (But odometer stopped working at 160) Previous owner also had the brake master cylinder replaced and added Koni shocks. There is also suppored to be a lightweight Cam and Flywheel. I have the name of the owner back in the 1990s who was supposed to have done all of this work but I have not tried to contact him. I will provide the details to the winning bidder. The Bad: The car was resprayed red around 2000. I have older pictures of the process from previous owner. Bare Metal pics show no major damage. The respray was not high quality and there are a couple door dings here and there. There are a few bubbles and some flakes have come off. (see images) The Inerior can use attention. Seats need recovering, carpet should be replaced. ODO not working The main issues: heat exchangers need repairing, exhaust needs replacement, and the A/C and Heating system in general needs to be fixed (fan on Constantly). None of these things affect the overall driving of the car. It brings a smile to my face everytime I get behind the wheel. I would really like to see it go to a good home where someone can really bring out its full potential.
