Previous sale fell through. Buyer could not find a way to pick up the car. Please only bid if you can come and get the car! Here it is... Possibly the rarest Subaru ever made. This is the Holy Grail of rare 1970s Subarus. The 1979 Subaru Fuel Economy. Only a few dozen of these cars are assumed to be left. You won't find another one of these ever. This is NOT a Subaru DL or GL. This is Subaru's car of the fabulous 50s!!! This car was rescued from someone who planned to demolition derby it! The car is a manual 5 speed with a 97CID 4cyl Engine. This car was designed to get 50mpg highway and 33mpg city! It is difficult to find even a photograph of a true FE. This car is also in the coveted silver with blue interior! About the car: It runs and drives great. Shifts through all 5 gears and reverse. The interior is shot, unfortunately. It will need new carpet, seat covers, dash, door panels. The gauges all look and work okay. The last 4ft of the exhaust system is trashed. The radio and cassette player both work, along with fuel gauge, odometer, headlights, brake lights, blinkers, AC, and all the dash lights. Original rims. The car is pretty dented up. There is rust through in the trunk on passenger side, and on the tops of the ridges of the front fenders. The seat mechanisms work great, but the seats will need reupholstered. The radiator hoses are in rough shape and need replacing before driving a long distance. This rarest of rare cars needs a complete restoration. ***Needs a new clutch cable installed before you can drive it away.*** I already have the cable.
