I have listed for auction at no reserve my 1980 Ford Pinto Cruising Wagon. Vehicle mileage shows 14,XXX - assuming its 114,XXX knowing odometer has rolled over at least once based on prior records with vehicle. Has the 2300cc 4 cylinder that fires right up and runs good, freshly installed radiator cap, valve cover gasket and battery. Four speed manual shifts as it should and goes into reverse as it should although reverse lights do not work. Before vehicle was taken off of the road I was making 50+ mile trips in the car with no issues. Drove out good for a vehicle of this age, previous owners had replaced front and rear shocks at some point. Car shows well from 20ft or for daily driving and cruise-in usage. Body work and paint completed by previous owner and I do know the vehicle has body filler but to what extent is unknown. Quality of work shows good, although rust has started to develop on rear of driver side roof drip rail and is showing through paint. Otherwise with the exception of a few dings and scratches the paint shows well although not show quality by any means. Other issues include rust on floor pans needing patched in driver and passenger side area as well as some rust damage to front subframe rails although car has been driven within the past two years with no major affect. Carpet and underpadding has been removed and discarded in the passenger area, carpet for cargo area remains and is in good shape. Interior shows well for age with one crack shown in pictures on passenger side of red dash pad. Rally gauge package functions as it should. Seats are in good shape with a light tear in driver side bottom cover. Headliner has a few tears and door panels have some light wrinkles in material. All plastic trim in good shape with some normal fading although interior has been partially disassembled for carpet removal to inspect and show floor pan condition. All lights with exceptions of right rear marker light and reverse lights. Car runs, drives, and stops but has not been inspected for a year and has sit...is 30+ years old so I wouldn't consider it road worthy without a thorough going over and some reconditioning I'm sure. Rear leaf springs have been repaired at one point but do needs spring clamps replaced. Car currently has Ultra Triangle 15" wheels installed that are in need of thorough polishing and do have some light pitting in chrome - tires have tread remaining but are showing weather cracking. All center caps present. Also included with vehicle is the original Rallye wheels that are in good shape including center caps and tires although they are mismatched tires. Car is great candidate for restoration and these models are getting rather hard to find. Have original build sheets, warranty card, letter to and from Ford from original owner inquiring about a engine noise he was experiencing early on during ownership. Original warranty booklets etc are in glove box. It was my next project but extenuating personal circumstances has forced me to list it for sell.
