Thank you for looking at this 1978 Pontiac Trans AM SE! We found this one owner car not far from where the original dealer sold it! When we bought the car we did not have any intension of restoring it as the photos we received painted a bleak picture. When the car arrived it was in much better shape than the photos showed. What we later found was the build sheet indicating this is a true Y82 code car!
The car came to us without the original "Z" code 400 cu-in V8 engine which had long been removed, however we found a "YA" code 400 cu-in V8 engine to replace the original. This car is a real Starlight black SE edition a.k.a. Bandit edition!
We are offering the car for sale for the buyer to restore or we can restore it for you (please inquire before bidding or making an offer). We have all of the parts for this SE edition including the original snowflake wheels. As you will see from the pictures all of the parts are here, the glass, tops, transmission, hood, quarters and so on.
We had the car soda blasted to see what if any work had been done to the car and were surprized to see that everything is original and the car needs very little work, just the floor pans need a few patches. The trunk floor, sub frames, quarters, top, and hood are all in great shape and will not need replacing.
I have the build sheet, PHS documents, and all the parts needed to complete the project. What it will need is new carpets, weather stripping, door panels and seat covers.
