Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Hello and thank you for looking! Up for sale is our 2010 Volkswagen Jetta TDi Cup Street Edition. If you are looking for a SIX speed MANUAL TDi Cup… well the choices are limited.. this car was near 30K when new and has the optional rear spoiler and the very cool “Thunder Bunny” body kit and a sunroof and typical options for one of these. While the car has never had any modifications…I have considered a bunch of them… The manual transmission is in my opinion more fun and has none of the issues associated with the “Automatic/DSG/ paddle shift” version.. If you want to add an Exhaust.. No Problem… Want to add a chip or have one programmed for more power? No Problem. Add Alcohol or Propane injection? Still… no Problem.. Yes, you might need to upgrade the clutch down the road… but the rest of the driveline can take those mods without needing expensive mods of its own. Maybe you just want a great TDi that does not tell other drivers..” My other car is a Prius!” maybe you want a TDi that doesn’t say.. “ I am sorry, I left my Manhood at home.” Maybe you are a woman with a fun personality..who doesn’t want to drive a car that looks like “My Accountant/ Father/ Husband approved the purchase.” All of which I fully support and encourage! Mostly.. You might just want a clean burning diesel sedan that is fun to drive, gets attention without being obnoxious and still breaks 40 MPG while carrying 4 people at 70+ Miles an hour .. This car does all of that and has a pretty decent factory sound system with Satellite Radio available and a 6 disc CD changer and Bluetooth, Sunroof, Heated seats We have two sets of tires… One 17” set for comfort and the original 18” inch wheels.. The17” wheels have all seasons that are quiet and comfortable.. My Wife was commuting 90 miles a day on terrible New England roads and the low profile tires the car came with were punishing on potholes. To save my wife and the car.. we put on the 17”s with higher sidewalls they handle bumps better and ride quieter. The original wheels are in great shape and they were on the car only in the height of summers.. Because it apparently takes the 4 months after Winter is over.. to fix potholes around here. If you live somewhere warm… I not only envy you.. but you can sell the 17” set to defray costs. Original wheels: look good but not perfect. Tires: 3 have low mileage.. maybe 10 or 15K on them. One has less than a thousand. Cosmetically: the car’s paint is original and except for the front air dam (it DOES sit low) and my wonderful spouse did not see a berm next to a driveway and cracked it on the lower edge.. We had the bumper repaired and it looks good but could be buffed smoother than it is now if you are really nuts about it being show quality.. The factory paint on these bumpers was very thin and had orange peel..is near perfect otherwise. Factory Dealer maintained other than when I replaced the fuel and oil/ oil filter at 40K… it gets driven regularly. It has 49,500 miles on it now and was just serviced at the dealer. It was purchased by us as a Certified Pre-Owned with 5000 miles on it. With no deductible- extended warranties.. Although I don’t think it is transferable, which stinks but then again we paid about 30K out the door for it and you won’t be paying that for it now. Why are we selling it? I have loved owning it and driving it..but… 1. We have moved to a smaller house much closer to work with a dirt driveway..and no garage! 2. We have 7 cars! So there is always something else to drive when the weather is bad so it is parked for months in a garage. 3. Since the car does sit low… it is getting tougher to get in and out of as we get older 4. I promised my wife I would sell it to finance a new kitchen in our “new” old house.. Yes, for real. All of which is absolutely true. Thank you for looking, I am happy to answer questions.. but don’t want arguments about my opinions (If you want to dispute points and opinions… keep trolling the many Forums out there) leave me out of it please. It was supposed to be funny, with a bit of truth. It has been a great car, getting over 40 MPG on the terrible winter blend diesel we have year round in the Northeast and on occasion more.. My best mileage per tank was 51MPG after a fill up in VA. Thank you, Fred
