Vehicle Detail

The time has come to sell my bucket list purchase. I just turned 61 and had not owned a bike since I sold my Norton in 1983. I originally purchased an 87 K75S but hated the leaning forward position and also the wind. I sold it to purchase this really really nice 95 RT. I had promised myself that before I left this earth I would take a 1000 mile or so bike trip BY MYSELF WITHOUT THE WIFE. I rode the RT up from St Louis through Chicago to visit our daughter, through Wisconsin, over to Minneapolis and back over a week's time this summer with absolutely no issues. I consistently averaged a little under 50MPG on the trip. I get around 45 around town. Now it is time to pass the bike on to someone else who can appreciate it. Enough back story, now the specifics. Mystic Red (dark red metallic) 95 w/ electric windshield, dual ABS, heated grips, I added speakers to the stock fairing and installed a new Pioneer radio w/ Aux in. The stereo and mounting plate are removable if you want the additional storage. The bike was down once in the previous owner's drive and I had the right side lower fairing repainted perfectly. Everything looks and works as it should. There is one small crack in the upper right inside trim around the luggage lid (see picture). The previous owner had the shafts lubed last year. Seat has no rips, tears, etc. This is the last US year for these bikes as you probably already know if you are still reading this. They are incredibly smooth (much smoother than the K100) and reliable with plenty of power to ride two up (unless you have a wife who hates bikes or is really huge in which case she will probably not like to ride on a bike anyway) and were used as police bikes here and in Europe. It has all three factory BMW hard bags (two side, 1 top) and the original manual and tools. The previous owner is an engineer I worked with at Boeing and is really anal about this stuff. The wheels look new, I changed all fluids and brake pads before I took off on my trip. Tires are 75%. Anyway, this is an opportunity to get an incredible bike for a really good price. The previous owner paid $5500 from the BMW dealer here in St Louis 2 years ago and spent another grand on having the shafts lubed, tune up, etc. I spent another $500 getting the fairing right. The bike looks new. The picture of the green K75S is the one I sold, note the handle bar position. I tried bar backs but I am simply too old to sit like that for very long and get blasted with the wind. For reference it had over 80K on it when I sold it and still ran perfectly. The red one is much easier to ride. The 45,200 mileage will be higher by a few hundred when purchased as I still want to ride it until it sells. This is an opportunity to own a very nice classic bike for a very reasonable price. It is quiet, smooth, plenty powerful, and not made in Japan. If you have never ridden a BMW you will immediately notice the difference from other bikes and other owners are fanatics about these machines. Thanks for taking the time to read this and please feel free to ask any question or to request additional pictures. I would not hesitate to get on this bike and ride it a thousand miles (I just did it).On Aug-31-14 at 11:04:06 PDT, seller added the following information: The luggage is all keyed alike and works with the silver key pictured in the ignition. The OE windshield was replaced by the previous owner with a Z-technik V Stream which bolts directly to the stock motorized arms. The screen raises and lowers as it should.
