Vehicle Detail
In 1964, 50 years ago this is the car that started the Muscle car craze. No rust, no rust, no rust. FAST! Great body. It has all its original body panels and they are straight as an arrow. Never crashed. Always a California car and "yes" it has the black plates. Starts on the first crank every time. Idles perfectly and does not overheat. (Even on 90+ degree days here in Southern CA) You can drive it anywhere. I drove it 45 miles on Saturday to San Clemente from Irvine and back. Smooth and fast on the freeway and great power when you want it. The entire drivetrain is bulletproof. Sounds fantastic too. Dash has the original upgraded RPO 504 Rally gauge cluster with tachometer. Under dash are additional SUN gauges. (Oil, Water and Voltage) New engine built by L&R Engines. A very reputable engine builder here in Los Angeles. Less than 1000 miles on engine. (the original engine is long gone)lnrengine461 CI engine.Power steering works greatTilt steering wheel (rare option)I have spent over $13,000 in the last 6 months. The engine alone is worth 6K. You can not tell this from a factory GTO unless you run the VIN with Pontiac Historic Services. I was told the Pontiac Dealer put the hood and badges etc. on it before it was originally sold. They could do that then because it was simply an option package. The GTO was not its own model until 1966. I wish I could keep it and I want it to go to a good home.
