Vehicle Detail
1961 Chevrolet Apache 10 This truck is a ton of fun and gets great reviews everywhere we go. I bought the truck in North Carolina and brought it home as a project. The engine block appears to be an original 283 from 1961 (I checked the block numbers to verify). The cylinder heads were updated at some point to a newer style. The transmission is a TH-350. It has a standard rear axle. It has manual steering. The frame was sanded and coated with POR 15 and recoated with Gloss black Rustoleum. Updates that I performed include, but are not limited to, an Edelbrock Carb (elec. choke), matching Edelbrock valve covers (& breather) and matching Edelbrock Air Cleaner assembly. The stock radiator was replaced with an aluminum Billet 3 row and a chrome shroud. All four rims are new 15” X 8” with decent Goodyear Wranglers on them (P235/75/15 rwl). Rims are all 5 lug. Disc brakes in front, drum in rear. All four shocks are new. Rear coil springs are new, and it has a 2" lowering kit in the back. The steering wheel was replaced with an early 80’s Chevy truck one. The steering column is from a late 70’s-early 80’s GM and has working tilt/turn signals. The distributor was replaced with a complete new one, including new Cap, rotor and custom cut 9.5mm silicone ignition cables. The master cylinder and brake booster were replace with new ones, the rear brake lines & hose were replaced with new ones. Both wiper arms and blades are new. The exterior rear view mirrors are peep style and new as well. The bed wood was removed and replaced with tongue and groove pine and stained as you can see in the photos. The front bumper is brand new. The rear bumper is from a 73-77 El Camino, tail lights function properly. A brand new carpet was installed as well as brand new chrome rocker moldings. The seat was in very good shape, I recovered it with a black cover as seen in the photos. The last two pieces were the Apache 10 emblems on the hood. Many hours went into this old Apache, I am sure there are things I forgot to mention. Keep in mind this is a 53+ year old truck and is by no means new. It is a good running rig and I have put many miles on it without any issues at all. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them. A deposit of $1,000.00 is required at auction close (non refundable). Payment must be completed within 72 hours. Vehicle will not be released until all checks/money orders have cleared. First time buyers need to contact me directly prior to bidding.
