Vehicle Detail

What you're looking at is the best of the first generation RX-7's. The GSL-SE was the very top of the RX-7 line that was only available for 1984 and 85 and only sold in North America. Japan and Europe didn't even get this model. Mazda replaced the carbureted 12A rotary with the larger fuel-injected 13B for this model only. It was the first fuel-injected 13B, and the first 13B used in the RX-7. The entire car was gone through and improved over lesser models. The brakes, suspension, chassis, interior and most importantly the engine. Power went up from 100 to 130. Torque went up from 100 to 130. This particular car has the full RACING BEAT street port exhaust system. The engine was rebuilt by a previous owner around 150K miles and received a street port. With the exhaust and port it is now making about 160hp and 145tq. This car is quick and surprisingly punchy down low. Don't let the miles scare you, this car runs and idles perfectly and doesn't smoke at all. The air works but doesn't blow cold. It just needs a charge. I haven't charged it because I'm not sure what it was using. I was planning on having the system completely discharged before I charged it so as not to mix the different coolants. The original radio works but sounds old. I don't listen to it anyway. The only other thing that doesn't work is the rear wiper. It needs a motor. Believe it or not the cruise control works great, as well as the power windows and pop-up headlights. The interior is in amazing shape aside from the driver's seat which needs to be re-covered and the console around the shifter which needs to be replaced. As it sits though, you don't really notice that there's anything wrong with the console unless you start to mess with it. Exterior wise, the car is tight. I don't know if it has ever been in any accident but I wouldn't think so by looking at it and driving it. There's no real rust to speak of, just a little surface discoloration at the very base of the side skirts. The photos are very accurate and representative of how good this car looks. I've owned this car for 15 months and It was my daily driver for 8 months. I still drive it 2-3 times a week. This is a chance for someone to grab one of these future classics at a great price. The car is complete and perfect for a restoration or even as a daily driver or weekend toy just as it is. I don't really care if it sells or not to be honest, so please don't try to low-ball me on the side. This is a great car, and I will keep it before I just give it away. Good luck.
