Vehicle Detail

I have for sale my 1929 Bad Ass Ford Model A. This car is just about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on. The owner of Hot rod dynamics in North Carolina built it for himself and I wound up with it. Google the shop. It has appeal to every one who sees it. I even get old ladies giving me the thumbs up. Rides very nice, corners great, it’s loud and obnoxious and is fast as hell. It weighs 2350lbs. and weight distribution is 52% front and 48% rear. The car has won many prestigious awards. At Detroit Autorama it won First in it’s class “altered street sedan pre 35”, the “spirit of rodding” award, ISCA “street achievement” award and Street Rodder Magazines “Driven” award all at Autorama. It has won at Goodguys Indy and Charlotte. Not to mention numerous local shows. It has been featured twice in Street Rodder Magazine and the Goodguys gazette. Don’t be fooled it’s not some trailer queen. This car is to be driven. I’ve put approximately 3000 miles on it. OK, the details.... The chassis is a one off custom fabbed 2”x4” tube steel under slung and Z’d to get the low ground clearance (3”). Bad for large speed bumps and raccoons. The front axle is from a 46 ford with an old Indy car style pull rod and rocker arm suspension with Alden eagle adjustable coil over shocks. In the rear is a 12 bolt Chevy with 3:55 gear. It has a Nascar truck arm suspension. With 48” truck arms that came off of Matt Kenseth’s that he ran at Bristol. It has coil springs, an adjustable panhard bar and gas shocks. The brakes are REAL 12 inch 45 fin Buick aluminum drum brakes on all four corners and a Wilwood triple master cylinder handles them. The wheels are vintage artillery wheels 16” x 8” and 16” x 4” respectively. The tires are Firestone cheater slicks in the rear and Firestone bias ply in the front. A vintage Schroeder sprint car steering box handles the steering. The body is a real Henry Ford 29 model A that has been chopped 5” and channeled down over the frame 3” leaving only one inch of frame showing. The tail lights are frenched 3” deep in the rear quarters. The top is a Legacy products sliding ragtop from sunroof source.com (Check out their web site and see who’s car is the home page). All of the windows roll up and down as well. The interior is custom fabbed black panels with dark gray carpet. In the back it has Brazilian cherry floors and aluminum bomber seats with matching leather cushions (or Brazilian cherry inserts included). Vintage DeSoto gauges are in the stock Model A gauge cluster and the yellow pinball machine button in the center reads “Extra Ball” that starts the car. The gas gauge is the original Model A floating gauge and has been rebuilt and works flawlessly. The speedo is mounted in a vintage Appleton spotlight. It has a sliver Mooneyes sparkle steering wheel. The foot well is a little tight but as long as you don’t have ‘EEEE” feet it should be easy to get used to. The drive train consists of a rare 1956 DeSoto S-24 330 C.I. HEMI that has been gone thru and had a new oil pump, double roller timing chain, new style rear main seal and the cam was pulled and sent to Clay Smith for a re-grind. It sounds obnoxious! The engine breathes thru an EELCO six duce intake that has been smoothed and chrome powder coated with six REAL Ford 97 carbs. Now I had the car running on all six for one summer and even with the smallest jets it still just puked fuel out the pipes so I blocked off the four corners and it runs the best its EVER ran. I know all you hot rod guys don’t like that but 1100 cfm is just way too much for that engine. If you think you can do it.. Buy it and try it. The engine is hooked to a world class T-5 5 speed with a Carolina clutch and a hydraulic Tilton throw out bearing. In 1st gear it has plenty to really get it going and in 5th gear at 75mph it’s barely running. It’s the perfect combo. The Lakes style headers are what’s on the car now. They were fabbed and ceramic coated just last summer. Overall the car is in very nice shape. Every thing has been meticulously maintained. The only issues are it just started leaking a spot of oil the size of a dime, the speedo cable is broke (I use gps) and the syncros are off a little on third and fourth gear. It has a slight grind going into both gears. It’s no biggie but I’m trying to describe the car as best and as honestly as I can. In summary this is a great car and I promise you will not be disappointed. If you don’t like attention than this is not the car for you. Good luck and please contact me with any questions. Serious bidders only please. If you don’t have the money then don’t bid. $500 due via pay pal within 24 hrs of auctions end. The car will not be shipped or released until all funds are cleared.
