SCROLL DOWN FOR PICTURES Up for auction is a Honda CR250R that my brother purchased new in 1987. Back in the day, this was the 250 to have. It was used for three summers in upstate New York on a family farm, primarily on trails, fire roads, and homemade tracks. The bike was last ridden in the fall of 1990 and it ran fine with no problems. It was prepped for winter storage and tucked away on a bike stand until now. After sitting in the back of my garage, my brother has no use for the bike and it's time for me to make some space for a new snow thrower. I pulled the bike out and found the front brake sticking. After spraying some WD-40 on the caliper, the brake is working again. A note on the gas tank stated "clean power port for next season". That's something that likely needs to be done. The bike fired right up after some fresh mix and a few kicks. I have not ridden the bike only because I live in a residential area and have no place to test it. The bike needs a careful once over and should be checked and dialed in. All fluids need changing, (fork oil, brake reservoirs, radiator coolant & transmission oil). The bike likely needs brake pads, chain, sprocket, and an overall tune up. I spun the wheels and the front rim is not true and straight, it does have a slight dent in it. The rear rim looks to be fine. The exhaust pipe is rock dented. The seat has no rips. Overall it has typical wear for a motocross bike. Think of it as a project bike. You may even need to change the rings and freshen up the top end. With the exception of a White Brothers shock, Metzler tires and some Acerbis plastic protection the bike is stock. The engine has never been opened up and does not leak any fluids. I found the original Honda rear shock spring (blue spring) which is included. It comes with two Honda manuals which are pretty beat up and water damaged, but still useful. For milage I entered 100 miles as an Ebay requirement, I do not know how many miles are on the bike, it was used for three seasons. The bike does not have a title and will be sold as is with a bill of sale. I have no way to transport the bike and it must be picked up locally. If you have a carrier, I'm happy to assist but can not crate the bike. I'm located in Eastchester, New York, 10709. It's Southern New York, about 30 or 40 minutes from the Tappan Zee and George Washington Bridges. I'm also 30 or 40 minutes South of Connecticut off Interstate 95. IMPORTANT: If you are the wining bidder it's best if the bike can be picked up before August 18th. After that date I'll need to figure out a best pick up time as work may get in the way.
