Here it is... Possibly the rarest Subaru ever made. This is the Holy Grail of rare 1970s Subarus. The 1979 Subaru Fuel Economy. Only a few dozen of these cars are assumed to be left. You won't find another one of these ever. This is NOT a Subaru DL or GL. This is Subaru's car of the fabulous 50s!!! This car was rescued from someone who planned to demolition derby it! The car is a manual 5 speed with a 97CID 4cyl Engine. This car was designed to get 50mpg highway and 33mpg city! It is difficult to find even a photograph of a true FE. This car is also in the coveted silver with blue interior! About the car: It runs and drives great. Shifts through all 5 gears and reverse. The body is sound with very minimal rust with the exception of some cancer in the bottom of the trunk passenger side. The interior is shot, unfortunately. It will need new carpet, seat covers, dash, door panels. The gauges all look and work okay. The last 4ft of the exhaust system is trashed. The radio and cassette player both work, along with fuel gauge, odometer, headlights, brake lights, blinkers, AC, and all the dash lights. Original rims. The dents on the body are not deep, so they should pop out without too much trouble with the exception of the driver's side of the front corner. The seat mechanisms work great, but the seats will need reupholstered. I drove this car 160 miles Wednesday night without any problems. And it truly does get around 50mpg on the interstate. This rarest of rare cars needs a complete restoration. I have started the bidding price at rock bottom. I will let the bidders determine how much this car is worth. Please ask any and all questions.
