Vehicle Detail
No reserve, so the highest bidder drives it home. Here is a rare, incredibly clean 1968 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight converted to a hearse by Cotner-Bevington Corp. It has 78,000 original miles. This car spent most of its life in the West. I bought the hearse from a guy in Minnesota who owned it for two years and didn't drive it much. The hearse is amazingly rust free for its age apart from a tiny rust spot on the bumper. The hearse has a strong running 455 Rocket that starts up every time. The transmission shifts great, power steering and alignment are spot on, and brakes feel fine. All of the lights, blinkers, turn signals, indicators on the dashboard, and dash/dome lights work fine. The lights in the back of the hearse work also. All of the doors and latches open and close smoothly and firmly, and all of the locks work. The interior is near mint as you can see in the pictures. As expected of a 46-year-old car, there are a few things that don't work...The clock doesn't work, the radio lights up but no sound, the wiper switch seems to be broken, and the controls for the heater and ventilation don't stay stuck down like they should (although the blowers do work). The hearse is also missing a tiny side light (see pics and video), but I have two extras that have not been installed yet. There a few tiny flecks of paint missing, but overall the paint is very nice. Look at the pictures and video. Because this is a 46-year-old car that hasn't been driven much in the past few years, it is being sold AS-IS. It is currently roadworthy, but may need some maintenance down the road. I have described its mechanical and cosmetic condition honestly and accurately. The hearse needs to be picked up in Adel, Iowa where it is currently parked inside a friend's warehouse. I would like the hearse to be picked up within 3 weeks of the auction ending. If you want it shipped, you will need to make all of the arrangements. A $1000 deposit will need to be made through Paypal within 3 days of the auction ending. The rest of the payment will be due when you pick up the car. I will accept cash or cashier's check, or you can Paypal the rest.
