Vehicle Detail

This is a 1966 Ford Mustang with the 289 V8 Automatic transmission. According to the door tag, which matches the vin stamping on the inner apron panels, this vehicle came from the factory originally with both red exterior and interior color. It is a good running vehicle but is not a show winner. A lot of work has been down along with new parts added to the vehicle but it will need further restoration work to be a show quality car. I would consider it to be parade ready as it does run and look good but up close it has its faults. The left and right quarter panels are starting to bubble up with rust around the wheel well opening, and the right fender and door are starting to get some rust through as well. Check out the photos as the rust is not really all that bad. Floor pans are starting to get some rust through right in the area were the front floor pan kicks up toward the firewall. Front and rear frame rails all look good as does the trunk floor pans. Again view the photos of the rails and pans. The previous own advised that the engine and transmission had all been rebuilt but I have no paperwork to prove. All I can say is that the engine and transmission all seem strong, tight, and run good. The interior has been redone in the past but needs to be freshened up to really look nice. The carpet needs replacement do to a large stain on the front passenger side. Brakes had been redone by the previous owner and very good for manual drum brakes. The master cylinder has been upgraded to a dual master cylinder. From what I can see most if not all of the front and rear suspension appear new. I know the rear leaf springs have been replaces. All of the front suspension components look to have been replaced. The C4 automatic is said to be out of a 68 Mustang and has a shift kit in it. It does have a firm crisp shift. The carb is an Edelbrock as well as intake manifold. I just last week had a brand new Pertronix OEM style replacement distributor installed along with a new matching flame thrower coil. It has a 3 or 4 row radiator but could still use a good electric fan as it does tend to heat up on hot days if the vehicle is at idle for a length of time. I was planning on replacing the radiator with an all alum radiator and electric fan setup. Per the door tag I believe it had a 3 speed manual trans but has since been converted to an automatic. Below are the door data tag codes. Body - 65 A , Color - T, Trim - 25, Date - 09K, DSO - 63, Axle - 6, Trans - 1. Vin 6F07CXXXXXX No radio and the opening has been cut as per the practice back in the day so a replacement panel for the radio opening will be needed. Previous own had the dual exhaust with the GT style exhaust trumpets install. Good tread left on the BF Goodrich radial tires. The left fender has been replaced I believe at some time and is solid. The original exterior paint was Candy Apple Red. This vehicle has been repainted and it is OK for a driver but was not a show quality paint job. All in all if you want a good driver Mustang and continue to do restoration work as you go along or just a fun car to drive as is this is a good car. I have a lot of fun driving it and it gets attention everywhere I go. People just love these old Mustangs. Ask questions and I will do my best to answer. The odometer does not work and the speedometer is off and on working. So I have no idea how many miles are on the vehicle. All of the turn signals work, I know the front turn lamps are new, brake lights work, the horn works somewhat, headlights work, temp gauge works, fuel gauge works sometimes, Alt gauge works. I added a quick walk around video that you should be able to click onto or type in the address to see and hear this Mustang running.
