Vehicle Detail
I have a 1977 Jeep CJ7 Golden Eagle up for a no reserve auction. The Jeep runs good, stops and drives pretty good. It has a little wander in the steering when you get above 55 mph. The brakes are good, but you have to pump the pedal once or twice to have real strong brakes. They work on the first try, but are better when you pump them a couple of times. It may need a master cylinder in the future, but its okay now. The steering sector has not been tightened any and could be to take some of the play out of the steering. It has power steering and drives pretty good. It will wander if you get up to 55 or 60 mph. The Jeep has the built in tach and clock and they do work. It has a brand new gas tank, sending unit and fuel pump in the past week. The starter, solenoid and battery were replaced within the last 3 months. The Jeep starts right up with no smoke or rattles. I haven't noticed it leaking anything either. The 4-wheel drive works great with no problems. The ignition switch and headlight switches are aftermarket and not Jeep parts. They work fine, but just not factory Jeep switches. All the gauges work, except the temperature gauge. The heater fan works also. I have all the air conditioning parts including the underdash unit that goes with the Jeep also. It is not hooked up and on the Jeep, but the parts go with it. Headlights, brake lights, park lights, dash lights all work. I will have to try the wipers and signals and add the results, because I have never used them. All the seat belts are in the Jeep also. The frame is rust free on this Jeep and has not been welded or repaired at all. The body and floor is not real bad, except for the rear tailgate (pics), bottom of tub below tailgate. Previous owner had made a heavy duty bumper that includes a piece that comes up to the tailgate.(see pics). The worst rust was in the front fenders and the have been replaced, sorry about them being green, but they are solid. The floor pans have a lot of surface rust, but only a couple of places that are rusted thru (pics). The Jeep has a bikini top only. The steering column is missing the cover/trim, but I have another steering column that goes with the Jeep. Exhaust is good and ran out the back. I've drove the Jeep 75 miles total with the "farm use" tags and it hasn't failed me at all. The body has a lot of scratches from going thru the woods hunting and a few dents, but not seriously rusted. The Jeep is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Feel free to ask any questions as I check my mail daily. I can help with shipping with 100 miles of 24055 or I have a local guy that will deliver the Jeep to your door and is very reasonable on price. Thanks for looking, good luck and bid to win. I checked the wipers and signals on the Jeep and they both work. I installed a brand new battery this morning as I needed the old one in a project vehicle. I have a used 3/4 soft top that goes with the Jeep also.On Jul-07-14 at 07:05:53 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a few questions about rust in this Jeep. I tried to put in the initial ad with pics of the rust. I will reiterate. The frame on this Jeep has only surface rust. It does not have any rusted holes thru or welded patches at all.... none... a good pressure washing, cleaning and black paint is all the frame needs. The tub has some rust below the tailgate. a couple of small places in the floor pan with the only bad one being at the drivers seat (see pic). If a restoration was going to be done on this Jeep the tailgate will need to be replaced and the panel below the tailgate probably also ( see pic). This is a 30+ year old, 4-wheel drive vehicle that has not been restored and has for sure been off-road, therefore, it is gonna have some rust, scratches and dents. On Jul-07-14 at 15:08:07 PDT, seller added the following information: Jeep has a tow bar that is included in the sale.
