Vehicle Detail
I imagine this may be the cheapest running 996 in America. Black 1999 C2 996 with factory aero, tiptronic. 176k miles Runs and drives well. A/C is perfect, radio (stock) is good. The seats with Porsche emblem were redone in the centers and look perfect. Has turbo twist wheels. When I purchased the car, it had a completely fogged over plastic rear window. I ordered the zipper replacement from guy on Ebay. Long story short, that was a disaster. During the whole process, the top stopped operating. Completely. Its not the fluid level, fuse, etc. Im 98% certain its either the trunk or engine lid sensor, but who knows. So currently the top is down, and I've got the hard top on. The soft top is missing the window, and would need to be replaced. When I bought the car, the suspension was terrible. Bouncy, vibrations, the whole nine yards. So I purchased suspension from car with 29k miles, installed, and car is right as rain. I also replaced the muffler, but there is still an exhaust leak, and its somewhat loud. The car also has a delay when shifting into 5th. Doesnt do it all the time, but it does happen. Shifts fine in manual mode. The tranny mount needs to be replaced as it vibrates and clunks a bit. Per a verbal conversation, the car also had intermix, and the head was replaced. The trim pieces that look like mahogany wood all need replaced. Otherwise, the interior is excellent. Simply put, the car looks like a million bucks (has been repainted by the way), but needs the exhaust sorted, the top replaced, and new tires and an alignment (havent gotten around to since replacing the exhaust). Please contact with any questions. Good luck, and thanks for looking On Jul-05-14 at 13:06:03 PDT, seller added the following information: To be clear, the car runs and drives. It has driven fine for several thousand miles in the last few years. That does not mean it may not need work done, either now, in the near future, or otherwise. Please be aware of this before bidding. You should assume you may need to spend a little minimum to get it how you want it. At a minimum it needs an alignment, and the exhaust checked for any leaks. The tires are in good condition physically, but are not a matched set front to back, and tend to flat spot after sitting. I'd just replace them. The transmission mount needs replacing as well. I have already replaced the engine mounts. I have no idea why the trim pieces got into the condition they are, especially with the leather, dash, and about everything else being in such good condition. My guess is this car spent a lot of time with the top down, and those trim pieces don't do as well in the sun. You will love the way this car looks. Factory aero kits look the best on 99 models for some reason. The paint is great, as is the interior leather. Just needs some mechanical issues sorted and you can get a very nice car for a very low price. Thanks
