It was purchased new from Tri-County Mercedes on 3/27/1979 at a price exceeding $34,000! Can you imagine owning this car in 1979 when the average price of a car was just over $5K? It was sold to Equipment Leasing Co in Lint, OH. I don't have much info on the second owner other than her name was Mary Huntsley from Batavia, OH. The date and mileage it was sold to her is not in the documentation I was provided with the car. The third owner was Mike Kunkel, he purchased the car in 2009. When he purchased the car it had just over 39,700 miles. I have his information I can provide to new owner should they have any questions on the car. He drove the car just 345 during the time he owned it. I purchased it in June 2014 and will be the fourth owner. New owner would be the 5th owner. Cosmetic- This car is a #2 car I was told by a long time foreign car collector. The paint has a good shine with no oxidation. The chrome has a good shine. This car get compliments and thumbs up everywhere you drive it. Its the type of car you can get out and drive and enjoy. If your looking for a car you want to trailer to shows and would cry if a rain drop hit it you might want to look past it. It has a few minor dings and rock chips. Nothing over the top for an un-restored 35 year old car. Interior looks good as well. Previous owner advised he put a new top and dash cover on it in 2011. Everything looks great on the inside. Minor wear on the seats that you could re-cover if you chose. I would not they look great to me and they are very comfortable! Just an overall great cruising classic that looks good!Mechanical- Car is a gem and runs out great! Took it to a service guy that has experiences with these vehicles. I told him anything that needs to be replaced please do it. I want my wife to be able to drive this car and I not have to worry if its mechanically sound. I went back to get it and the only things he did was change oil and filter, adjust air pressure and top off fluids. He said the car needs nothing else. That was at 40,143 miles and we have drove it a couple hundred miles since and WOW! This car drives better than a new car. It is so smooth, hard to even explain it, you almost just have to experience yourself. Got 14.8 MPG on the first tank. This car is a pleasure to drive and seems very mechanically sound. Car seems to have been service regularly by previous owners as well which is very important on these cars. Electrical- This car was way past its time with electrical features. They include pwr windows, locks, antenna, am/fm cassette, cruise, a/c, hardtop rear defrost and the list goes on. I have check all lighting from headlights, fog lamps, turn signals, brake light, license plate light and back-up light, hazard, interior, dash, and warning lights. All the gauges work including clock, tach, speedo, oil, temp and fuel. Everything seems to function as new. The only items that seem not to work is the cruise and washers. The A/C blows cold air and warm heat. Originality- This car seems to be about 98% original. Even the front glass is original with factory sticker you see on even new Mercedes products. Non-original items include normal wear items such as plugs, wires, Distributor cap, belts and air filter. Tires were put on new in 2011 and have about 600 miles on them. Battery was replaced in 2010. The soft top (high dollar item) and dash cover were replaced as well. The radio is an Alpine AM/FM Cassette that was replaced from the original by 2nd owner. I have the original factory order documents, service manuals, owners manual along with other receipts. Terms- $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of auction ending. Balance due in 14 days or when picked up or shipped. Car can be held in garage over 14 days as long as balance is paid.Car is sold as is with no warranty.
