I purchased this Twin-Cam Special in late 2012 from it's original owner who had bought it new from Newport Imports in 1975. A matching numbers California (Riverside) car, which is the last and best iteration for the model. It was stored in a garage since 1989 and never used. I have spent a great deal of money on its mechanical and interior refurbishment to make it fun and usable. It was a very good Lotus to start with. It now has; 1) new clutch and pressure plate, 2) complete new break system with new master cylinders and boosters, etc, 3) new clutch and throttle cables, 4) new radiator and a more powerful electric fan, 5) various engine and gear-box gaskets, 6) new battery, 7) new carbs, filters and fuel hoses (from Lotus in New York), 8) renovated interior with new seats, insulation and carpet and few other items which escapes my mind. There are repair and expense receipts for all the work. It has 31,989 miles. It always fires right up and goes like a Lotus. The engine sounds fantastic and tight like a new motor. The paint looks great in the photos, but, it is old with lots of imperfections and typical stress-cracks. I had it prepped for "auto-cross" and racing, but, it was never taken out and never raced. The tires look new and good enough for driving around 55mph, but, they are 26 years old and very dry and a bit flat-spotted. I have the original owner's title copy, original Lotus owner's manual, shop manual, spare tire, tool-kit-box and all the Lotus Europa specification-books that came with it in 1974. It is not a perfect one, but, by comparison to what I've seen on eBay a damn good one to own and enjoy. Keep in mind that if you're taller than 6'2" foot with big feet/shoes, you'll have a hard time getting in or driving it. As a bonus, I have included a brand-new (never used) Team Lotus (John Player Special) Racing jacket, worth $1,200. I have set the reserve fairly low. The decals and the stripes on this Europa are actually removable. They are not cheap decals - and some of them are vintage racing decals which are not easy to find. The signature on the front and rear are mine. Removing them may damage the old black paint. For now, it is what it is - and as mentioned in the description, it was meant for auto-cross and some driving fun. I am selling it "as is". Personally, I like it the way it is. I hope that clears up the issue of the decals. Please kindly refrain from asking "what's my bottom line-price". I'm not in car business and selling it is not that important.
