2003 Mercedes Benz C240 wagon white with tan leather interior *** PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE ADD*** I am selling this C240 wagon as is due to the following. when you start driving the car it goes up in gears 1-3 normally as you accelerate, then stops up shifting, once im on the freeway I have to put it in neutral for about 3 seconds while the rpm's drop, then put it back in drive then it's in 5th gear and im fine to drive forever at fwy speeds. when I slow down it will down shift to 3rd and stay there and thats what I drive around town in. When the car is turned off and later started again, it is in 1st gear again. I bought 2 transmissions for this car, one with 65k miles and one with 105k, its a long story how I ended up with two, but one was on ebay and the other was local. I have been driving this car this car this way for the last 6 or 7 months, I bought the transmissions about 4 or 5 months ago with grand ideas of fixing it myself but I have not had, nor will I have the time to do that and I have another car so I'm just giving up on the idea. Because of the trans issue the check eng. light is on of course and the code says incorrect gear ratio. It is the only thing making the light go on I was told by a local shop. in the last 4 months I have taken it on six different 5 hour road trips. Everything works great, cold A/C,6 cd changer, sunroof, etc. and the car looks really nice, just the weird trans. problem. You can drive it home today if you want, you just have to know to put it in 5th manually on the freeway. really the only other mechanical thing is that when you signal right the blinker lever doesn't stay in that position very well, sometimes I have to hold it because after about 3 blinks it goes back to the middle to the off position. If you know what your doing with a wrench you can get a screaming deal, or if you know someone you can pay that does this work you can still get a great car at a great deal. It has power windows and locks, power sunroof, leather interior, am/fm/cass/6cd sound system with steering wheel audio controls, cruise control. 113k miles currently, I don't have the exact number because I am still driving it 3 or 4 times a week.The car is in nice shape, no tears in the leather, interior looks really nice, the exterior is white so it always looks good. The tinted windows and black wheels make it look really nice. The car runs great and I personally would drive it anywhere tomorrow. Just drove 750 miles round trip to the southern part of our state last weekend and back with my son. I put pretty much everything on ebay at a no reserve auction, it's and auction and thats the way it should be. That being said please only bid if you are actually able to buy. I will wrap them up, they will fit pretty easily into the back of the car.
