Vehicle Detail
I will first describe all the negatives. This truck is untitled and will be handled with a Bill of Sale and any other paper work required for you to title it in your name. I'm listing this for my friend who is not computer savvy. He was given this truck by a customer of his along with other items. She had no title for it and how it wound up in her barn is lost to history. It came out of the barn painted red with "James Bros. Plumbing" painted on the doors. The engine is not original to the truck (she said) but is a the 1950 version of the straight six and was rebuilt. It has 22,000 miles on the rebuilt engine(she said). The odometer shows 41997 miles and doesn't accommodate a sixth digit but it's safe to assume a 1 goes before the odometer reading. There is significant rust on this truck but rust through seems to be confined to the cab floor where the battery is located, the passenger floor where your feet would rest and a walnut sized area on the front right fender. My friend never made it "street legal" but after some work he ran around his farmette. Kids and college intervened and six years ago it was parked where it now resides and hasn't been run since. Another project set aside. Now for some more positive info. It had a valve job done in the mid nineties. With the exception of the trim piece around the front left head light and the rear bumper it is complete. Although a lot of rust is evident it appears to be surface rust and repairable, the gauge of the steel used was seriously heavy duty. The original truck bed(made of wood and rotted) is under the steel plate located there. All the metal spacers between the wood deck and their supports are still there and appear to be restorable. The doors and hood sections open cleanly though they are stiff. All the hinges need lubrication but close evenly and the gaps are good. Truck body is rail straight This truck seems to be a good candidate for restoration. No shipping available. Local pick up only
