Vehicle Detail
I do not know how many people have owned this bike. When I purchased it the seller had the carbs off, the paint was faded, seat was torn, tires were dry rotted, gas tank was dented, and the battery was dead. Once I cleaned the carbs and installed new stock jets the bike started up. I installed an electronic ignition and it has not failed me in the last 5 years. I cleaned up the engine and painted it with engine paint and it still looks good. I bought a new tank on Ebay, one without dents, and had someone paint it, the tail section, and the side covers a gloss black which is the original color. I had someone make stripes to match the originals. I rebuilt the brakes, had the rotors drilled, and installed stainless steel brake lines front and back. I have short legs so I found myself touching the ground on tiptoe at traffic stops so I made some adjustments. I had the seat foam cut down about 1/2 inch and had it recovered at an upholstery shop. I ordered new rear shocks from RaceTec 1/2 inch shorter than stock. I rebuilt the front forks with new seals and re-installed them 1/2 inch shorter than stock. With new shocks and rebuilt front forks the bike rides like a new one. The rear tire is about 4 years old and the front is 2 years old. Today I replaced the battery I put in it 5 years ago with a new one. The bike is not a show winner but it is as reliable as any Honda and will go anywhere you want to go.
