Vehicle Detail
Onward-- 1967 Honda CL 160 Scrambler. 7,369 original miles. I purchased it from the original owner. It has spent its entire life in the dry climate of Colorado and is pretty much rust free. All chrome is nice and void of the typical pinprick corrosion. Paint is in good shape with some fading and a few various scratches here and there as you would expect. Tank inside is clean and rust free. A few very minor dings on the tank exterior, almost negligible. Lights all work as they should. Horn is weak. I don't know if it is adjustable or warrants replacing. Seat is original. The stitching has let go in the front. Seat springs, etc are in excellent shape. All cables are original and work fine. I replaced the fuel lines with clear. I also replaced the tank badges as the original plastic ones were gone. I also replaced the footpeg rubbers with genuine Honda. New battery and spark plugs. The side covers were missing so a pair of covers from a '68 were used. Also the chain guard and battery holder were replaced. Front tire has age cracks on the sidewall. Front fender has a scrape which can be seen in the pics. Small gouge on the right side cover near brake pedal, easily replaced. Handlebars have a very slight tweek, useable for sure but not 100% perfect. No tool kit. Engine has good compression and starts easily. This bike has spent a great deal of its life sitting and a little tweeking on the carbs will most likely be needed, especially if you live in a lower elevation, I'm sitting at 7650 ft. Before placing this add, I fired it up and it sounds great. However, a very light amount of smoke out of the exhaust on initial start-up. This went away after a few moments. I suspect from not have been started for a few months may have contributed. These engines are bullet proof. Not to discourage anyone, but trying to disclose everything to my knowledge. I try to be as thorough as possible in my descriptions. Nice vintage bike that is somewhat rare with lower mileage and near original condition. For sale locally until a bid has been placed.
