Vehicle Detail
Thanks for looking at our 1974 Chevrolet Camaro or as some say, Camero. This car has fresh paint and interior, new tires and wheels and a very strong rebuilt small block 350 and transmission. If you are looking for a rare but under appreciated car you can drive every day, you may have just found your girl. And she's a solid investment too. According to Haggerty Value guides, a grade 4 car in need of total restoration is worth $12,000. This Camaro sits between grades 2 and 3, an insurable collector car valued at about $18,000. The 1974 Camaro was produced in great numbers. 151,000 Camaros in 1974. Per the VIN, this LT was produced with a 350 4 Barrel V-8 in March of 1974. This is the much preferred small back window model. Production ended in April of 1974 yet a search of available 74 Camaro's yields very few results. There is a beautiful perfect looking restoration in Texas for $30,000. Beyond that, there are few cars available, most of which need complete restoration. We found less than 25 cars available in the US making this example harder to find than the ubiquitous, collectible by everyone's standard, "69 Camaro". Many 74 Camaros were converted into race cars. Most served their owners as daily drivers but eventually nearly all have met their end at the recycling plant. Few survived in any shape at all. This Camaro is not a racer or boy racer returned to street usage. It is a well cared for example of a very popular car from "back in the day" with a few modern updates. Note the original California blue plate. This is not a YOM plate. It has been secured to the car since new in 1974. Forty years in the shade of the Golden State has kept this jewel in good shape. The engine and transmission are very strong and are the recipients of a fresh rebuild via the prior owner. The car runs cool in LA traffic. Full Edelbrock trim package plus intake and carburetor. Mallory HEI ignition. MSD Wires. Headers feed Flowmasters into 3" pipes that end at the rear axle. She's fast and loud for sure. The B&M QuickSilver shifter works flawlessly. Thanks to her 1974 Birthday, this beauty is smog exempt in California. No annual testing or requirements. This is a Factory Air Conditioned car but the compressor is not present. Factory Sport Mirrors and Tilt Steering Wheel Aftermarket AM FM CD with removable face. Just installed new 6X9 Speakers on the new package shelf. Tons of volume and bass. Sounds great. Glass is good all around. New rubber door seals, roof rail seals, window fuzzies, rubber bumpers, etc. New upholstery, headliner, carpet and door panels. Grant steering wheel. Updated late model dash. Fresh NOS front marker lenses and tail light lenses/housings. Fresh Repaint to factory original white. Later model hood scoop. Pans and trunk are solid New 17" REV Wheels and Sumitomo tires. 20 lock lugs and key. New Gabriel air shocks. Runs and drives fantastic. Lots of attention and always welcome at cruise nights and weekend car gatherings. Parts are plentiful and reasonably priced. This Camaro is currently licensed, registered and insured in California. No sensors, gps, abs, tpms or any other pms. The most complicated part of this car is likely the radio. The California title is clean and issued in the sellers name. Odometer shows 8000 miles. We believe that this is actually 108,000 miles. Values on these pre-smog Camaro's continue to escalate as collectors realize how few cars are left. Get a great driver that gives you a lot of bang for your buck. Hop in your Camaro. Drive your 401k. Cash in that ROI with both grins and a solid investment in a (currently) reasonably priced classic Camaro. Here's a video tour http://youtu.be/2iXCxJhgDYg Thanks for looking! Yes, we accept trades.
