1967 BMW R50/2 (titled as a 1968). This is a very nice mostly original condition bike with 31K miles. I believe the tank and fenders were re-painted a long time ago and look fine. It has one muffler that has a patch which you can see in the photos. New front tire and brake pads. I also just replaced the ignition advance springs and corrected the timing. The odometer and trip work, so I believe this is original mileage, but it is impossible to know for sure on a bike this age. Engine and frame serial numbers match. It has working turn signals, but no horn. With the new front pads it stops pretty well (for drum brakes). I have the keys for the gas tank glove box. I use 40wt Valvoline racing oil with high zinc in the engine. All fluids, trans, engine, drive have been changed in the last 500 miles.Its been stored indoors. The BMW R 50/2 VIN 644203 was manufactured on January 26th, 1967 and delivered on February 24th, 1967 to the BMW importer Butler & Smith in New York City. However as was often the case, it was not sold until 1968 and has a 1968 title. I know of BMW motorcycles that were manufactured in 1966 and have a 1968 title. This is not unusual for bikes from that era. This is a fun bike to ride! Please ask any questions you have prior to bidding. I am willing to have a shipping company come to my house and pick up the bike.I rode it last about 6 weeks ago.There is a some corrosion on the spokes. I think you can see it in some of the pics. The front tire and brake work was done by a local airhead shop. I have preformed the regular maintenance on the bike. $500 by Pay Pal 48 hrs after end of auction -- deposit is not refundable, and then the balance before shipment or upon pickup.
