I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2001 Cadillac Catera sedan. The Catera was a bold move for the Cadillac brand, considering the huge failure of thier last attempt to enter the sport sedan market in the 80's. However, the Catera laid the foundation for the CTS and really helped redefine the Cadillac brand. The success of the Catera can be traced back to its European roots. Over in Europe, this car was sold as the Omega under the Chevrolet, Opel and Vauxhall brands as well as being sold as the Holden Commodore. To the buyers in the U.S., this car was a bit of an odd fit and had no sibling cars state side...but there was deep global support for this car. The rear wheel drive layout was a definite departure for the Cadillac brand but foreshadowed their intentions to move forward. I would rate the exterior of this Catera to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this sedan. As you can see, this is a good looking vehicle. It is finished in brilliant silver with matching gray leather interior and factory chrome wheels. The only bad thing I can point out about the exterior of this car is on the rear of the trunk lid where the clear coat is beginning to peel...which is common. Otherwise, this is quite a good looking car. The body lines are nice and clean. Everything lines up nice and straight. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few blemishes on the exterior commensurate with age and mileage...but nothing major. The only strange thing to report is that the RF door only opens from the inside. The most likely cause is a loose rod that goes from the exterior handle to the latch release...nothing major. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory chrome wheels show very well and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with deep tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this Caddy is. I would rate the interior of this Cadillac to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see in the photos, the interior of this Catera is pretty clean. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show well throughout the interior. The leather seats are very comfortable and also show very well. The power windows, locks, mirrors and seat work properly. The switch for the LR window is touchy. The interior plastics show typical age wear for a European car. The audio system is the factory Delco/BOSE sound with steering wheel controls...which sounds great. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. The heater keeps the cabin warm on cool mornings and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. The trunk is spacious and clean. This Catera is equipped with OnStar should you wish to subscribe to their services. Mechanically, this Catera appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 3.0L V6 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The suspension feels good for an older vehicle. The steering feels neutral and responsive. The brakes stop this sports sedan with no issues. Her road manners are good. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure. With 20hp on tap, she runs nice and strong. There have been no idiot lights on. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. I personally love these cars. You don't see many of them. In addition to being loaded with features, they are fun to drive. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2001 Cadillac Catera sedan. The Catera was a bold move for the Cadillac brand, considering the huge failure of thier last attempt to enter the sport sedan market in the 80's. However, the Catera laid the foundation for the CTS and really helped redefine the Cadillac brand. The success of the Catera can be traced back to its European roots. Over in Europe, this car was sold as the Omega under the Chevrolet, Opel and Vauxhall brands as well as being sold as the Holden Commodore. To the buyers in the U.S., this car was a bit of an odd fit and had no sibling cars state side...but there was deep global support for this car. The rear wheel drive layout was a definite departure for the Cadillac brand but foreshadowed their intentions to move forward.
I would rate the exterior of this Catera to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this sedan. As you can see, this is a good looking vehicle. It is finished in brilliant silver with matching gray leather interior and factory chrome wheels. The only bad thing I can point out about the exterior of this car is on the rear of the trunk lid where the clear coat is beginning to peel...which is common. Otherwise, this is quite a good looking car. The body lines are nice and clean. Everything lines up nice and straight. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few blemishes on the exterior commensurate with age and mileage...but nothing major. The only strange thing to report is that the RF door only opens from the inside. The most likely cause is a loose rod that goes from the exterior handle to the latch release...nothing major. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory chrome wheels show very well and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with deep tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this Caddy is.
I would rate the interior of this Cadillac to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see in the photos, the interior of this Catera is pretty clean. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show well throughout the interior. The leather seats are very comfortable and also show very well. The power windows, locks, mirrors and seat work properly. The switch for the LR window is touchy. The interior plastics show typical age wear for a European car. The audio system is the factory Delco/BOSE sound with steering wheel controls...which sounds great. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. The heater keeps the cabin warm on cool mornings and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. The trunk is spacious and clean. This Catera is equipped with OnStar should you wish to subscribe to their services.
Mechanically, this Catera appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 3.0L V6 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The suspension feels good for an older vehicle. The steering feels neutral and responsive. The brakes stop this sports sedan with no issues. Her road manners are good. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure. With 20hp on tap, she runs nice and strong. There have been no idiot lights on. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. I personally love these cars. You don't see many of them. In addition to being loaded with features, they are fun to drive. Winning Bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us via eBay Message within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. Please do not leave a voicemail on the office phone.
Full payment is due within 7 day of the auction's end. The prefferred method is to bring cash in person to complete the sale. If you are unable to bring cash in person within seven days or will be having the vehicle shipped, we also accept Certified Checks, USPS Postal Money Orders, and wire transfer.
PayPal is not an accepted payment method. This includes Bill Me Later.
We cannot accept credit cards or personal checks.
Vehicles that are not picked up within 14 days of auction's end will be charged a $10/day storage fee, unless other arrangments are made.
Non-paying Bidders:
We take great pride in our work and are very serious about what we do. Likewise, we expect the people who bid on our auctions to be serious about honoring their bid. If you are the successful bidder for any of our auctions and do not pay for your vehicle within the specified time, an Unpiad Item case willbe opend with eBay. This can severely restirct yur ability to purchse from all eBay sellers. You will be charged a $249 re-listing fee. All unpaid fees will be handed over to a collection agency and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, etc., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are able to complete most tag, registration, and title work, as well as collect sales tax, for Pennsylvania residents.
For out-of-state buyer we can issue a 30-day temporary tag (aka In-Transit tag). The cost is $39 and the buyer must show a valid driver's license and current proof of insurance.
