I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a very clean 1998 Lexus LS400 sedan. In the early 90's, Lexus launched their flagship sedan to go up against the very best in the market. In the late 80's and early 90's, Japanese car manufacturers were known for basic reliable cars, not for luxury cars. Toyota knew that the success of their new Lexus brand hinged on their flagship car. They also knew that they were going to have to launch a car that was nothing short of perfect if it was to get noticed among the likes of the BMW 7 series and the Mercedes-Benz S-class buyers. What they did was nothing short of amazing. In true Japanese fashion, the Lexus LS 400 wasn't exactly oozing with extra buttons, trinkets and frills. However, this car stood head and shoulders above the competition in the areas of build quality and engineering and really pushed the envelope forward with engineering. I would rate the exterior of this Lexus LS 400 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a gorgeous Lexus. Finished in traditional two tone black/gray over tan, this full sized Lexus definitely commands a presence around it. The black finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please understand that this Lexus is not perfect. Please expect to find a few flaws here and there commensurate with age. The gray body cladding shows very well and is all intact. The alloy wheels show well for their age and are matched in a nice set of rubber with good tread all around. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The classic lines of this car are beautiful. This is the most updated version of the original ground breaking car before it was restyled and ruined, in my humble opinion, until a few years ago when they made the LS beautiful again. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. This is an exceptional example of an exceptional automobile. I would rate the interior of this car to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, the interior of this Lexus shows very well. The only bad thing I can point out is a slight discoloration on the drivers seat where your right shoulder would be. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show well throughout the interior. The seats are soft and supple, not dried and brittle as these are known to get with age. The dash and headliner are clean and show well. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all appear to be working properly. The stereo is the original Lexus Premium Sound with cassette and CD. The stereo sounds excellent and works properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. All of the gauges and displays work properly. Driving this car is absolutely amazing. The attention to quality is evident in every inch of this vehicle. The interior is virtually silent and almost completely insulated from the outside. The trunk is spacious and clean. The original spare, jack and factory tool kit are all present. The wood interior accents and wooden steering wheel show well and have a rich luster with no visible fading or sun damage. Mechanically, this Lexus LS 400 is nothing short of amazing. The 4.0L DOHC 32V V8 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The 4.0L V8 was originally developed by TRD to be used in race cars and is one of the most over-built, over-engineered engines available. Toyota spent millions of dollars designing and testing this engine with the intentions of using it in racing applications. The street production version of this engine that is found in the LS 400 and SC 400 are among the best engines available in a street car. They are capable of delivering impressive power wrapped in a silky smooth package that lasts and lasts. I've personally seen these cars with well over 300k miles that sound perfect. I cannot say enough good about these engines. As for this car specifically, it has excellent road manners and is an absolute pleasure to drive. The suspension feels tight, confident and well sorted. The steering feels great. The brakes stop this full sized luxury sedan with no issues. The engine makes excellent power and keeps perfect temperature. There have been no idiot lights on. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. Pride in ownership shows throughout every inch of this Lexus. Finding a first generation LS 400 in this condition with low miles is not easily done. If you're in the market for one of these fine automobiles and have been looking and looking for "the one", this fine example deserves your consideration. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a very clean 1998 Lexus LS400 sedan. In the early 90's, Lexus launched their flagship sedan to go up against the very best in the market. In the late 80's and early 90's, Japanese car manufacturers were known for basic reliable cars, not for luxury cars. Toyota knew that the success of their new Lexus brand hinged on their flagship car. They also knew that they were going to have to launch a car that was nothing short of perfect if it was to get noticed among the likes of the BMW 7 series and the Mercedes-Benz S-class buyers. What they did was nothing short of amazing. In true Japanese fashion, the Lexus LS 400 wasn't exactly oozing with extra buttons, trinkets and frills. However, this car stood head and shoulders above the competition in the areas of build quality and engineering and really pushed the envelope forward with engineering.
I would rate the exterior of this Lexus LS 400 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a gorgeous Lexus. Finished in traditional two tone black/gray over tan, this full sized Lexus definitely commands a presence around it. The black finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please understand that this Lexus is not perfect. Please expect to find a few flaws here and there commensurate with age. The gray body cladding shows very well and is all intact. The alloy wheels show well for their age and are matched in a nice set of rubber with good tread all around. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The classic lines of this car are beautiful. This is the most updated version of the original ground breaking car before it was restyled and ruined, in my humble opinion, until a few years ago when they made the LS beautiful again. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. This is an exceptional example of an exceptional automobile.
I would rate the interior of this car to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, the interior of this Lexus shows very well. The only bad thing I can point out is a slight discoloration on the drivers seat where your right shoulder would be. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show well throughout the interior. The seats are soft and supple, not dried and brittle as these are known to get with age. The dash and headliner are clean and show well. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all appear to be working properly. The stereo is the original Lexus Premium Sound with cassette and CD. The stereo sounds excellent and works properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. All of the gauges and displays work properly. Driving this car is absolutely amazing. The attention to quality is evident in every inch of this vehicle. The interior is virtually silent and almost completely insulated from the outside. The trunk is spacious and clean. The original spare, jack and factory tool kit are all present. The wood interior accents and wooden steering wheel show well and have a rich luster with no visible fading or sun damage.
Mechanically, this Lexus LS 400 is nothing short of amazing. The 4.0L DOHC 32V V8 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The 4.0L V8 was originally developed by TRD to be used in race cars and is one of the most over-built, over-engineered engines available. Toyota spent millions of dollars designing and testing this engine with the intentions of using it in racing applications. The street production version of this engine that is found in the LS 400 and SC 400 are among the best engines available in a street car. They are capable of delivering impressive power wrapped in a silky smooth package that lasts and lasts. I've personally seen these cars with well over 300k miles that sound perfect. I cannot say enough good about these engines. As for this car specifically, it has excellent road manners and is an absolute pleasure to drive. The suspension feels tight, confident and well sorted. The steering feels great. The brakes stop this full sized luxury sedan with no issues. The engine makes excellent power and keeps perfect temperature. There have been no idiot lights on. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. Pride in ownership shows throughout every inch of this Lexus. Finding a first generation LS 400 in this condition with low miles is not easily done. If you're in the market for one of these fine automobiles and have been looking and looking for "the one", this fine example deserves your consideration. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

Winning Bidders:

Full payment is due within 7 day of the auction's end. The prefferred method is to bring cash in person to complete the sale. If you are unable to bring cash in person within seven days or will be having the vehicle shipped, we also accept Certified Checks, USPS Postal Money Orders, and wire transfer.
PayPal is not an accepted payment method. This includes Bill Me Later.
We cannot accept credit cards or personal checks.
Vehicles that are not picked up within 14 days of auction's end will be charged a $10/day storage fee, unless other arrangments are made.
Non-paying Bidders:
We take great pride in our work and are very serious about what we do. Likewise, we expect the people who bid on our auctions to be serious about honoring their bid. If you are the successful bidder for any of our auctions and do not pay for your vehicle within the specified time, an Unpiad Item case willbe opend with eBay. This can severely restirct yur ability to purchse from all eBay sellers. You will be charged a $249 re-listing fee. All unpaid fees will be handed over to a collection agency and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, etc., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are able to complete most tag, registration, and title work, as well as collect sales tax, for Pennsylvania residents.
For out-of-state buyer we can issue a 30-day temporary tag (aka In-Transit tag). The cost is $39 and the buyer must show a valid driver's license and current proof of insurance.

There is additional risk in purchasing a vehicle this way versus buying a vehicle from a retail dealership that has been fully serviced and has a warranty. You will pay considerably less this way, but understand our vehicles are sold AS-IS and do not carry any sort of warranty.
