Vehicle Detail

I bought the car on EBay with the intention of converting into a vintage rally car. My situation has changed and I must sell the car. The car is titled, registered and insured in my name in North Carolina. The build sheet shows the following information: Chassis number: 111 010 10 081653 Engine number: 180 947 10 005565 Exterior color code: 190 – graphite grey Interior color code: 120 – cognac mbtex Option codes; 401-single seats, 411-sliding roof, 427-power steering / manual transmission, floor shift 493-USA version, 503- side view mirror, left, 518-Becker radio (since replaced with an aftermarket radio) 531-automatic antenna (does not work), 564-reclining seat, left / reclining seat, right, 573-headrests (included but not mounted to seats), 587-folding armrest 641-white wall tires (replaced with black wall tires), 663-spare wheel / 10 liters of fuel 269-roof rack (not with the car anymore), 270-canvas for roof rack (not with the car any more) Wholesale date: December 20, 1965 Model Year: 1966 Note: The car is titled as a 1965 Mercedes. It has the 6 cylinder, overhead cam engine with dual carburetors and the stock 13 inch wheels have been upgraded to 14 inch wheels (original wheels included). It starts, runs, and can be driven. I only drove it about two blocks to fill the gas tank. The engine has an electronic ignition installed. I did not see any significant smoke from the exhaust. The fuel gauge, the speedometer and odometer do not work. (A second instrument cluster is included.) The oil pressure, temperature and generator meters do work. The car did not overheat and oil pressure was good. The brakes stopped the car. The previous owner claimed the brakes have been checked and the discs and drums are in spec”. The previous owner also claimed the dual carburetors were rebuilt recently. I did not verify either claim. The seats are comfortable with no excessive sag to one side. There is a 4 inch tear in the driver’s seat back and a split in one seam. There is also 3 inch a tear in the rear seat. Otherwise they look quite good. There are no cracks in the dash pad. I have been told the pillow style head rests are rare and valuable. There is a dent on the front of the car at the front base of the passenger side front fender where the bumper hit the sheet metal at some time in the past. Some form of aftermarket chrome trim was stuck on the sides of the car and removed leaving bits of glue and in some places pulling off some of the paint on the side of the car. There are dings and dents on the car that appear to be from storage and parking. There are small spots of rust. A quarter sized bubble area behind the right front headlight, a quarter size bubble area next to the hood seam on the left front fender and a small area on the edge of wheel well of the right front fender. All the spots are small and easily fixed without replacing panels. All the glass is good and windows manually wind up and down with no problems. Door locks work. There are no seat belts in the car.The radio antenna in the picture is not there. A wind storm pulled the car cover loose and it broke the antenna. The car has not dripped any fluids on the driveway. An all-weather car cover is included with the car. A shop manual is also included In general, I would say the car is a solid car with negligible rust spots and basically needs a three step rejuvenation (1) made safe (check brakes, check all lighting, check steering, check wipers, etc.), (2) made fun to drive with some upgrades and finally (3) made to look good with a decent paint job.
