Vehicle Detail

People ask me "why the high milers?" I ALWAYS respond "there's a reason why it made it there. Proper maintenance." That and nobody but YOU knows it!! $40+ thousand dollar car (new) for a fraction of the price! It's a 2004 model don't forget...for NO RESERVE! Most safe car in the world. What I love about the rather dull AWD units in the Volvo lineup is that in 2003 (02 for the S60 line) to create a more reliable AWD system, they went with a solenoid activated rear drive. Leaving it with a 95% FWD and 5% 4WD design. Basically it "kicks in" ONLY when the car senses slippage, leaving you with (hopefully) FWD gas mileage. I think it works pretty well even if just a band-aid. This system is the best of the best that Volvo offers. Beautiful beautiful car. LOADED with all the options you need and nothing you don't. Once you hop in your new purchase, you won't be able to tell the high miles. Looks, runs and drives like a car with 80k! The bumper covers are in great condition. Minimal scuffs. No cracks, damages or fading. Body is rust free with only a handful of dings, most of which can be dentbusted if desired. Matching General Altimax tires on every corner are nearly new and ride on clean damage/vibration free rims. Unseen are the nearly new brakes behind each wheel that will easily throw you thru the dashboard if needed! Hood and roof look great. Being a white car, dings and dents are hard to see. But the right rear door has the worst of it. I tried to catch it as best I could...mostly horizontal scratched on top of a few rippled dents. I'm no bodyman, but I don't see any signs of any bodywork, accidents or major repairs. Being a former mom-mobile, the interior has some wear. Mostly on the center console trim and pocket areas (picture things going in and out regularly). I'd still give it an 8 out of 10. Give it a professional cleaning in the nooks and crannies and that number goes up. Carpet is clean with only one small driver's side heal hole. Minimal driver's bolster wear. Leather is nice and soft with no rips or cuts or tears to be seen. Everything power seems to work as it should including the sunroof, windows, all lighting including the driving lights, ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING, heated power seats, cruise, AM/FM/CD/TAPE, full climate control, winter mode transmission, locks, mirrors (note the smaller replacement lens on the passenger side tho), tilt, message center, homelink, steering wheel controls...EVERYTHING!! These dash pics I provide to show you that there are NO dummy lights illuminated during run and all light up during start. There were no warning indicators on the info panel when I got the car(yet BOTH the headlight beams weren't working)...BUT....now it has a "Bulb Failure" warning. I assure you ALL the lighting works. No bulbs out. Then why?? Well...upon my inspection I noticed the car came with the HIGH END "HID" headlight system from the factory. As you may or may not know, this a a problematic system on most cars (read: expensive upkeep), making the product not worth the return on investment. This system that WAS in the car, used 2 very expensive HID bulbs costing $99 EACH to replace. They also used a common "ballast" box on EACH side costing $300 each when those failed. Sometimes they wouldn't totally fail yet keep burning the $99 bulbs out prematurely. The fix?? Return it back to the original halogen system. Now your bulbs are nearly as bright and a bulb costs you under $15 a side WHEN AND IF they burn out. Then you buy a new bulb and replace knowing that it's only a bad bulb, not an expensive ballast. Nothing fancy. The drawback?? The car thinks the bulbs are burnt out. I will take the "warning" panel info VS. the high cost HID any day!!!! I love that Volvos are so easy to work on!! I'm also betting this potential $1500 dealer repair was THE reason why the car was traded in to the Audi dealership that we got the car from. I fixed it for under $200. No brainer. Sorry for the darker pics, a thunderstorm was on it's way thru again. Only complaint in the rear area is the stiching on the middle area of the lower seats have separated. Most likely from baby seats installed. Easily fixable if desired, by pulling off the lower cushion and supergluing or sewing. You wouldnt have even noticed it. Notice the rear Heat/AC vents. Unseen is the strong battery and spare tire ready for your roadtrip home! Above you can see the factory manuals and ignition key are included. Note the keyless key/keypad. I had it laying around and am including it with this car to make it complete. You will need to have it programmed and a key cut if you want to use it. Sorry no floormats altho I may have a set of aftermarket rubber ones that I will toss in if I find em!! Engine compartment is clean. Note the timing belt tag giving you at least 20k more miles until the next scheduled change. I did inspect the belt and it looks fine..EXACTLY it's age. Engine fires right up with a strong battery. Runs super smooth and quiet. Turbo is strong and works perfectly. Transmission shifts and performs as it should. No signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. No overheating. Spark plugs are fresh. Belt looks great. Suspension is tight...noise and rattle free. Car drives nice and straight down any road. No drivetrain flutter or issues. Brakes look very recent. The car is ready to roadtrip anywhere you need to go. I have personally logged over 200 miles on the car with zero complaints. Inspect my excellent feedbacks. Can't stand the smell and I don't see or smell any signs of a former smoker in this car. Just an FYI! Thanks for your interest!
