Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a Classic 1986 Nissan Maxima with only 62,950 original miles. This is the second generation Maxima and the first generation of the FWD Maximas. This car was built and sold in autumn of 1985 and will be 30 years old in November of next year. This vehicle has been in my family since around 2006 when it was purchased from the original owners - an older couple from Westchester County who maintained the vehicle beautifully. It is still in great condition inside and out. It features the advanced "talking lady" warning system which talks to you and tells you if you left your headlights on, if you're low on gas, if you left your door open, if you left your key in the ignition, and more. It also has the 2 digital keyless entry keypads on both the driver side and passenger side which can automatically open the driver's door, all 4 doors, and even the trunk, without needing the key - both keypads still work and I have the code for both of them. Other features include ice cold AC, power windows, power locks, power seats, power mirrors, power antenna, automatic trunk release, gas lid release, factory security system, and much more. This car has been extremely well maintained and I have complete service records dating back to 2006. I also have the original dealer invoice from 1985 when the car was purchased by the original owner, as well as the original window sticker - both in mint condition (see pics). This vehicle has extremely low miles at only 62k and you'd be hard pressed to find another such example from this year with this low mileage. There's very few of these Maximas still around. This car is completely stock with the only exception being that all 4 speakers were replaced a few months ago with JBL premium speakers and also an Auxilary input was added to the factory radio to play music from Ipods, Iphones, Android phones, etc. The stock radio system still works perfectly, including the 7-band digital equalizer. There are no known mechanical issues with this vehicle. The interior looks practically new. The exterior is in great shape - only some minor dings and scratches here and there which you would expect for an almost 30 year old car, but no major dents, no peeling, and no rust (this car was treated with rustproofing as a dealer option in 1985 and it shows - see original invoice for details). This car was purchased from the original owners in 2006 by my great aunt and uncle and they drove it up until last year when they retired and gave the vehicle to my cousin. My cousin kept the vehicle in his garage for 3 months until August of last year, which is when I took ownership of it. To be honest, I really do not want to sell this vehicle. It's ultra rare, drives great, and is only going to increase in value as the years go on given the rarity of the low mileage and because so few of them are still on the road today. I constantly have people coming up to me complimenting on what good shape its in. However I already have two other vehicles and I'm moving across country soon and I just cant afford to transport 3 cars in addition to everything else. I would strongly prefer to sell this vehicle to another Maxima enthusiast rather than someone who is going to beat on it. My family has taken very good care of this vehicle and we would like to see someone take ownership of it who truly respects the vehicle as it is and who will continue to maintain it properly. This is your chance to own a piece of automotive history, as these cars just don't come along very often anymore, especially with this low mileage. I'm running this listing as sort of a reverse auction. I'm going to periodically reduce the price until someone uses the buy it now option. I will also accept any reasonable offer for this vehicle, so if you are serious about owning this ultra rare 80s Nissan Maxima, please send in your offer and we can negotiate. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks.
