Vehicle Detail

The GOOD:This is a great example of an early GS and one could ride it anywhere, its not perfect, but it will get you there. These are robustly engineered and very simple to maintain ( unless you're doing the clutch, that's not so simple. DON'T WORRY, ITS BEEN DONE).What is really nice about this one is its the last of the GS's that use a cable clutch, the newer ones have a hydraulic system with a slave cylinder that is prone to failure. It's not a garage queen and has got some scratches and marks form being almost 20 years old and a pretty wild opalescent metallic -green paint job from one of the previous owners. The engine is strong and pulls this heavy bike around easily. If you've never rode one of these before you will be amazed by its stopping abilities due to this telelever suspension as there is no fork dive !!The bike will always start up and purrs like a kitten49k miles and well maintainedNew fork seals as of 2 years ago and don't leakFresh Oil changeNew Front Brake PadsNew Spark PlugsClutch assembly has been replaced along with the cable 6k miles ago and works flawlesslyInput shaft spline was been lubed with the fancy stuff( some german lube that resisists pressure and wont displace( that was what I was told)Valves were checked and in specTires were replaced 2 years ago and have plenty of tread on themAlternator belt has been replacedAluminum head guardsHall sensor updatedNew Brake pads front and rearSargent front saddleCorbin rear seatHella Fog LightsFront and Rear shocks replaced with FOX TWIN CLICKERSFastway foot pegsNew fuel pumpTouratech gearbox reinforcement plates installedTouratech Crash Bars (these are real good ones that allow you to change your oil by only removing the lower half of the cage.)Ive got a bunch of paperwork for this bike showing dealer maintenance from the first owner and a very dirty service manual from the 2nd owner with his notes. Clear title in hand The Bad(ish):In the effort of full disclosure...a puff of smoke will come out when starting it on cold mornings but over 50.. no smoke.. not sure why, but thats the truth.the rear FOX shock is leaking and doesn't seem to affect anything as its not really bad.The front Shock does not leakThe ABS light is flashing but I was told this is a common issue on these bikes, and I've done noting about it.The rear seat is jerry rigged but stays in place just fine and I foo have a plate that fits in its place, but its not picturedThe rear foot pegs have been removed, but I do have them and they will be included. On Apr-22-14 at 12:54:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention in the original text that All of the indicators work as well as the HORN, which is a RIDICULOUSLY LOUD. The heated grips also work VERY well I'm listing this bike locally and reserve the right to end the auction early.
