Vehicle Detail

I have a solid project, well-optioned Grabber Orange (code U) January 1970 built Boss 302 for sale. This is a southern car with solid body and very little rust. I have the elite framed Marti report for this Boss. This Boss was ordered new in Grabber Orange/black standard interior with shaker hood scoop, power steering, power disc brakes, wide ratio 4-speed transmission, Magnum 500 wheels, electric clock, AM radio, standard black interior, electric clock, rear spoiler and console. This Boss has all original sheet metal except driver rear quarter (needs rework on top shoulder-see photo). Has factory staggered rear shocks. Solid as heck floors, frame rails, torque boxes and front shock towers (see photos). Passenger side of body is sweet. Driver side is also good, but driver rear quarter was replaced a long time ago and they did a poor job on the top of the quarter where they overlapped it to the car and bondo’d it to smooth it out (see photos)—this can be repaired by butting in a piece at the overlap. The rest of the driver quarter is good. Original Georgia Boss and was stored many years in Georgia until I purchased it last year. Front inner engine compartment aprons are excellent originals with clear factory VIN stamps. Decent original standard black interior including carpet. Headliner is good except for a small weak spot. If you lift up the driver floor carpet, you see nice grabber orange paint. Nice original Ford Carlite glass including windshield. Someone added a long time ago original Ford rear louvers and they are in nice, straight condition. The original engine and transmission are long gone and not included. Car now has a running 351 4V Cleveland with Boss 302 valve covers, Edelbrock aluminum intake/carb, headers, dual exhaust and automatic C6 trans. The 4-speed clutch pedal assembly is still under the dash with both pedals. Includes front bumper w/brackets, original Boss 302 shaker scoop w/bottom, Boss 302 heads, Boss 302 factory Hurst shifter, console and new front grill. Has good headers and tight dual exhaust with FlowMasters. Car runs but needs a tune-up and a new motor mount. Originally came with 3.50 open rear, but when I crawled under the car I saw a factory 3.91 31-spline N-case traction-lok with a factory 3L91 rear end tag (dated March 1970) attached to the housing. I spun the rear wheels and counted and it is 3.91 Traction-lok like the tag says. All I can think is that the dealer installed the 3.91 for the first owner to sell the car several months after the car was built. The power steering cooler in good condition and is still on the strut rod brace from the factory. Includes 3 small-hole 15x7 Ford Magnum 500 wheels. This Boss was painted blue in the 1980s, but there is grabber orange paint peeking out all over the place. The car has nice window trim including rear window special black Boss trim. Driver door will not open from outside (rods need adjustment), but does open from the inside. Windows roll up and down. Passenger motor mount is bad and engine tilts as a result. Rear deck lid has rust. Trunk floors have minor rust. Passenger quarter has minor rust bubbles at the bottom corner. Cowl bottom is good except for small repairable hole at heater intake area. Still has factory Boss chrome-less tail lights and painted steal rear window trim. New gas tank sending unit installed. All tags in place including buck tag and VIN plate. Of the 832 Grabber Orange Boss 302s made in 1970, I estimate Ford made about 100 orange Boss 302s with shaker, power steering and Magnums. This Boss is sold “as is” with clear open title. I expect full payment in 10-days. I reserve the right to end this auction early. Please call to discuss this Grabber Orange Shaker Boss 302. (301) 237-8360
