Up for auction is my 1991 MR2 2.2L 5-speed. This car is in great condition and has been extremely reliable for me. I don’t want to sell it but I just bought a Corvette and don’t have room for two cars. I have babied this car and spent a lot of money to keep it in great shape. Please read the description before bidding. The car is located in COSTA MESA CA and must be picked up or have transportation arranged by new owner. 1991 Toyota MR2 2.2L Non-Turbo (SW21) 5-Speed Manual Transmission 136,000 MI CLEAN TITLE IN HAND Super White II Paint / Factory Blue Interior Brand new CA tags (exp. MAY 2015) Upgrades : (Over $3,000 spent in the past 6 months) Tinted windows with sun strip on windshield (30% front, 10% rear) Staggered wheels (17” Front / 18” Rear) *BRAND NEW, NOT A SCRATCH ON THEM* ZR rated tires (205/40-17) (235/35-18) TONS OF GRIP, 90% tread left! *BRAND NEW* Drilled and slotted rotors front and rear *Less than 1,500 mi on them* Carbon Kevlar brake pads front and rear *Less than 1,500 mi on them* Ralco short shifter (Heavy duty, high quality) with Heat resistant shift knob Brass shifter bushings Performance Intake system (car will also include stock airbox and new filter for SMOG) Smoked corner and side marker lights on front of car Tein S lowering springs (BRAND NEW IN BOX) GODSPEED Sway bars 22mm Front and Rear (BRAND NEW IN BOX) 4-1 Header (Factory manifold will be on the car for new owner (SMOG), Header will be included - UNINSTALLED) COBRA Radar detector will come with the car as well GOOD STUFF: Clean title No leaks (Not a drop!) Paint looks great (It was repainted the factory color by prev. owner) NO rust (CA car) Includes: 2 keys, spare tire & jack, wheel lock key, and owner’s manual Clutch is in great condition (No slipping or anything weird) Runs excellent, idles smooth, no hiccups, no smells, No check engine light, etc (Just a good Toyota 4cyl) Cold A/C!!! New tires, brakes, rotors, ball joints, oil & oil filter, spark plugs, spark wires, cap & rotor, etc. Gets 33-35 MPG Not so Good: It does have the common 91/92 MR2 bad Syncro for 2nd gear. It shifts smooth when cold but once it is warmed up you have to be a little carful to not grind 2nd. It had this issue when I bought the car a year ago, but it really isn’t that bad and hasn’t gotten any worse since I have owned it. It is actually very easy to not grind, you just have to get used to it. Besides that, the rest of the gear changes are smooth. Crack on sunroof (Only on top, Does not leak or cause any problems) Tear on driver’s seat LEFT bolster (Very common for MR2’s) (passenger seat is perfect) Struts are worn (23+ year old car) (I will include brand new Tein S springs, and 22mm sway bars) On Apr-07-14 at 14:01:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Up for auction is my 1991 MR2 2.2L 5-speed.
