Vehicle Detail
I looked long and hard to find this GTA. Its a very rare 5 speed car. Pontiac only made a little over 300 5 speed firebirds in total for 1989. There is no record of how many were GTA 5 speeds. It's black with beachwood tan interior and T-Tops. Originally a 5.0 305ci 5 speed car with 3:45 heavy duty 9 bolt rear. Its has the oil cooler and the N10 dual converter option. The 5.0 305 was tired so it was the perfect time for a 5.7 350 l98 motor swap. It was pro rebuilt and bored 30 over to 355. It was properly converted with new GM 350 tpi prom, new 350 tpi 22lb injectors, all sensors were replaced along with complete tune up. Runs awesome with plenty of power. Has a new clutch, starter, and waterpump at time of motor replacement. Just over 2k miles on motor. New GR2 shocks and struts. New brakes. The wheels were sent to Keystone to be restored. They are beautifully polished with correct gold paint, and clear coated. Tires are new BFG g force sports with just 2k miles 245/50 up front and 255/50 in back. There are a few minor dings, and there are no accidents. Paint is 2.5 years old and looks great. Id give it a 7 out of 10 its not a 10k paint job, but very nice.. The rear hatch pull down motor assembly was rebuilt with all new motor and parts. The headlight motors are rebuilt. Head lights are upgrade to silver star including the fog lights. The interior is very nice for being 25 plus years old. There are no tears in the seats. The dash is not cracked. The headliner is the only thing that needs to be replaced. To be really nice I would do carpet, headliner, sail panel/speaker covers. The steering wheels is needs to be recovered, but it has a nice cover on it. The original stereo is gone. There is a Alpine head unit and I recently replaced the back speakers with pioneer 6x9s. I have the front maching pioneer 4x6 speekers that will go with the car. The power antena stays up due to the alpine head unit. I think. I have some things that go with the car. New door seals, outer window seals, new GTA side emblems, new upgrade steering shaft. If I find more stuf Ill add it later. I did have BMR subframe connectors installed and a front end wonder bar. This is a must for a third gen and it made a big difference. Also there is a magnaflow stainless catback exhaust that sounds very nice and deep. Its awesome with the 5 speed. The original owner died and the car was sold at his estate sale to the guy I bought from. He never titled the car. I bought the car from him and went to register it in nj and they wouldnt except the title and signed executor of estate papers. So he had to register the car and then give me the new title. So Im the third owner of the car. Im only saying this so you know the history of owners. There is nothing wrong with the title its clean and clear. Your welcome to check the Vin. This is a really nice car that you can take your time restoring while still being able to drive and enjoy.
