This Classic 1998 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is in excellent shape with some very minor scratches. At less than 61000, this is a very low mileage car. Tires and brakes have less than 9000 wear. The car is garaged with an included Wolf brand car cover all winter and is only driven in the summer. All electrical systems (heated/power seats, antennae, Bose Sound System, Convertible Roof, etc.) function perfectly. The detachable hard top has an electric defroster in the rear glass window. The plastic window in the soft top has darkened somewhat over time although the overall canvas top is in excellent shape. Included with the car cover is a front end detachable bra as well as covers for both rear view mirrors. The included Wind Screen attaches to the roll bar. Three keys (two master remote keys and one valet key) as well as the owner's manual are included. The engine is strong and the brakes are the most impressive of any car I have ever driven. The 1998 SL500 was the last year that Mercedes-Benz offered this car with a 32-valve 315-horsepower V8. In 1999 the power plant was changed to 24-valves and horsepower was reduced to 302.
