Vehicle Detail
I have for sale an exceptionally clean 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe. This was an inheritance from a very close friend who recently passed on, and was his "baby". The car has always been in his family. His Father bought it new, eventually sold it to his Uncle and when he was ready to sell it, did so to my friend. All changes made to the car from it’s original factory configuration were performed by my friend who was locally recognized as one of the most knowledgeable local automotive technicians. This car has always been adult driven (never “hot-rodded”). Here is a partial list of what I know, or information that has been passed on to me: The original transmission was a power glide automatic with the shifter on the console. This has been professionally converted to a floor mount Muncie 4 speed manual. Car has taxi cab suspension (Rides Excellent). Anti sway bars front and back and a limited slip differential( I have not verified this but the installation sheet is present for it). Genuine GM dealer optional Mark IV air conditioning ( Blows cold). After market GM “bow tie” AM/ FM radio with auxiliary input (USB) and power antenna. Dana brand After market cruise control incorporated into the turn signal arm. (quite sure it works BUT I haven’t road tested it.) The car comes with all Genuine shop Manuals and ident-a-plate .New headlight bezels still in the box. and nice indoor Car Cover as well as a custom dash cover. Professionally installed Vinyl top, and incredible Tripoli Turquoise ( GM Color) Base Coat/ Clear Coat (urethane) Paint job! ( Must see to believe - pictures don't do it justice) Car is California built (Fremont plant) ,and has spent it's whole life in the western part of the US, so it has NEVER had a rust issue and has not been driven in inclement weather since it's restoration. This car was a" One family owned car". Father to Uncle to son and then inherited by myself in 2012. Driven less than 100 miles in last year. Always garage kept. Badged from the factory as 275 HP 327 cu. In. Engine was replaced about 20K miles ago with new GM crate engine. 300 HP 350 Cu. In. The numbers matching original engine was running when removed. This engine is crated and palletized and is included in the BIN price. (Shipping costs are buyers responsibility) Car has flawless chrome. Power disc brakes (front) Dual Caliper Power Steering Excellent Radial tires (90%) GPS shown on the console goes with the car If I were to nit pick the car the only minor things that I can see are, Some minor curb rash on front wheel trim rings(see photo#4). Minor seat bolster wear on drivers front seat(See photo#5), and small flaw on dash trim above glove box. Exterior of the car is excellent and I can only find one very, very small paint chip on drivers door(see photo # 3). This car has won multiple local car shows, and is a beautiful car! The car has never been in a wreck, nor needed any body work. All body panels are factory original. It was taken to bare metal when it received a complete repaint as well as new bumpers. Price was never an issue with my friend when it came to taking care of the car as it was his father’s. Please keep in mind however, that this was not a complete nut and bolt restoration car. If you are looking for something that is a concourse car, this is probably not the car for you - and is being priced as such. This car is a very honest and very clean example of vintage 60's era muscle, and cars like this are getting very hard to find. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW!
