Vehicle Detail
The work on this car has been extensive. It has, front to rear: New halogen headlamps with new rubber seals, new lamps all the way around. New horns, alternator, fuses and fuse box, new ignition coil and electronic distributor, new plugs, new oil lines, new master cylinder, recored radiator and new thermostat, new bonnet support strut, heat blanket, installed refurbished matched set dual SU carburetors AUD52, Valves adjusted, Peco headers and exhaust system with dual chrome tipped resonators (deep, throaty but not obnoxious), new oil pan, valve cover and manifold gaskets, the entire suspension, front and rear was removed and rebuilt with all the new parts, neoprene frame bushings, wheel bearings, tie rods, lower control arms, pivots and kingpins and new coil springs front, new leaf springs rear and then both ends were aligned. A front anti-sway bar was added. Four new Minilight wheels and four new Michelins finished the suspension work. The battery, fuel pump and gas tank are all new. The complete rear brake assembly was rebuilt, all new parts. In essence, not counting the internal engine and transmission, I have already done every major piece of work this car will need for decades. I ordered most of my parts from Brit-tek. The owners name is Bob, hell of a nice guy. My other prime source is Moss Motors. Both have websites. I did basically nothing to the interior. I cleaned and brightened the gauges, added a walnut shift knob, a new cigarette lighter and some new mats. To be completed, the interior still needs the seats and door panels recovered, a dash cap to hide the small cracks on top of the dash, new speakers, a new antenna, new visors and a new set of seatbelts. The carpet in good shape and all the glass is good, clear and water tight. The chrome on this car is exceptional all the way around. The compression was checked and is within design limits, oil pressure is excellent, no leaks of any kind, transmission solid and tight. The car comes with a MGB manual, all its tools, and pictures of the restoration (new floor pans, new paint and undercoating) done 13 years ago by the previous owner who'd had her for 27 years. The top is in excellent condition, the plastic is clear. The car comes with the bootcover and frame, tonneau cover, 2 car covers and complete tools. Engine, exhaust, electrical and ignition, cooling, suspension, hydraulics and brakes, and as I said, new tires and rims. I have made every effort to make this car safe and dependable and have endeavored to describe it as completely and accurately as possible. That said: This car is being sold AS IS. There is no guarantee or warranty either stated or implied. The Two-Half Rule applies: If it breaks in half, you own both halves. To date I have $18,000.00 in it total. I’ll accept $12,500.00.
