Vehicle Detail
Update: if it's not obvious, it started to lightly rain while taking pictures, (and then downpour...another story) so light rain drops appear in random shots on random interior and exterior items. engine compartment pictures taken last, when it really started coming down. If the car survives this auction, I'll take it out on a sunny day (most days here) and get some dryer pictures. This color really comes alive in sunlight. 1974 Porsche 911 Targa project in rare paint code #024 'Rose Red'. Not quite red, more like Hot Pink! This is a straight (great gaps throughout), very solid, salvaged title Ca car, as a result of a fire in the a/c electrical system under the smugglers box many years ago. A/C removed and no other wiring or components affected. Motor is a good running 2.7L and according to prior owner rebuilt, also many years ago, with new (at the time) Molly pistons among other things. There is no receipt proof of this but I have no reason to doubt PO's word, motor itself is very clean, runs smooth, with great oil pressure and sounds fantastic (other than an exhaust leak, old exhaust system and leak pictured). I have included a video of the car running in the pictures link below. Shift drives, rolls and stops very well considering it has sat since at least 05, only being started periodically and not driven. Horn, lights, signals, windshield wipers, gauges (except speedo, needs cable) all work correctly. Haven't tried the radio or heat. Seats are newer and newly recovered. new visors. New 4 piece coco mat set. 1 repaint, long ago, prior to the salvage. Rear window is out but included. Targa top is in good shape but covered in non OEM material. Brightwork is all very nice. Targa bar is very nice. Nice original hood badge. Very nice original engine lid grill. 3 out of 4 original Fuchs (1 is a replica). Tires are very old, should be replaced. Very dry car, only rust found is around the bottom of the windshield in small areas and rear window in small areas also (all photo documented). Also photos of bottom of car, headlight buckets, front apron top and bottom, trunk, door bottoms and engine compartment showing how solid all these other common rust areas are. Extremely good opportunity for the right buyer, however no guarantees on anything and obviously as-is sale. I have described this car as accurately as possible based on first hand info, going through it for detailing, pictures and driving it breafly. PPI is as always, welcomed. DRD motor trade is a licensed bonded CA dealer. Sales tax and DMV fees required to all buyers taking delivery in CA.
